Description
All it takes is one simple set. The Tomcat® Press 'N Set® Mouse Trap is guaranteed* to kill mice and allows for easy, no-touch disposal. These plastic, spring-loaded snap traps are easy to set and reduce the risk of pinched fingers. To use, place a pencil eraser-sized dollop of food such as peanut butter into the bait well. After baiting, pull the set bar back the entire way until you hear a "click" to tell you it is locked. Mice have a natural tendency to run along walls as they move from hiding to feeding, so we recommend placing traps with the bait well facing the walls of rooms or cupboards where activity is suspected, such as kitchens, utility rooms, or garages (droppings and oily marks along baseboards are a telltale sign of activity). Once the mouse has been killed, pick up the trap using the grab tab and dispose of the trap and the mouse in the trash. Your fingers will never touch the dead mouse! Works as advertised
Set in two in basement a few feet apart. Caught one 1st night and another the 2nd night. I like like the little handle that allowed me to pick it up using a plastic bag without needing to touch the mouse. Although you do have to see the mouse l think you are more likely to catch something then the type where the mouse has to go inside the trap. Will buy again and may try to reuse them as I see mentioned in other reviews.

Does not work on city rats.
If you have city rats, these do not work. I placed them 2 days in a row and the rats somehow trigger it without getting caught. It does startle them and they run away, but they are also very intelligent creatures so know to stay away from the trap.

Wildly Effective
Every fall the mice like to cozy up in our garage in preparation for the cold months ahead, and I would really prefer that they didn’t. However, my young son keeps the garage door open while he’s outside playing, and the mice see this as an open invitation to make themselves at home. So. I’ve used these traps before with good luck, and this fall is no exception. I bought four traps, set them with a bit of peanut butter, and placed around the interior perimeter of the garage. Within 3 hours I had already trapped three mice! I love that I can handle the trap (with my hand inside a plastic bag) and loose the mouse into a separate plastic bag without ever having to touch it - and love even more that I can reset the trap and that they’re as effective with reuse. (After resetting and leaving them overnight, I trapped another four. I guess I have my work cut out for me.) Safe to say I’ll be a continuing customer and will continue to recommend!

Not worth it.
Didn't work at all. I watched the mouse eat the bait four different times before the trap finally snapped. Then the mouse just jumped, shook the trap off its head and ran away.

We are not sure why the mouse has apparently not been interested in the trap, however; below are a few tips that may resolve the problem. -Make sure to only place bait in the bait well on the bait door at the back of the trap. If Tomcat Press 'N Set Mouse Trap is placed inside the entrance the mouse will typically eat that and move on without going inside the trap to get the bait in the back which is where it needs to go to be caught. -May want to try a different bait. Possible baits: Tomcat Mouse Attractant Gel, Peanut butter, piece of cheese, cheese whiz, soft candy, nutella spread, marshmallow spread. -Try changing location and/or angle/direction of Tomcat Press 'N Set Mouse Trap -Make sure there are no easily accessible food sources (ie. food stored in containers including dog and cat food and if possible removed from the area with most mouse activity). If the mice are not hungry because they can get other food they will be less prone to go for the bait. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee. This trap doesn't work
I've had 4 of these set with natural peanut butter on different levels of my house including the attic, in locations where we have found mouse droppings, for two weeks now. The mouse (or possibly mice, plural) is still crunching inside the wall every night. I even drilled a >1/2-inch hole in the bedroom wall, where we hear it every night, to invite the mouse out. I've rinsed off and refreshed the peanut butter twice. They won't go anywhere near this goofy hunk of plastic. Total waste of money; now I still have to find and buy wooden snap traps, which for some reason my nearest Target store does NOT sell.

Don't buy, very cheap
I set these traps with peanut butter in my basement to rule out that I didn’t have any mice. One broke and the other top popped off. The peanut butter wasn’t touched. I only had them on the floor for 6 days and this is what happened. See pics.

They are also so easy to empty and immediately reuse without any bodily residue. We love our army of Tomcats!

Turns out you really can't build a better mousetrap than the old wooden kind
Not only did it not catch any mice, it was also easy for the mouse to remove the bait and abscond with it.
