Q: What does the toy teach?

submitted by Judy - 4 years ago
  • A: Hi Judy,Press the five colorful buttons and your child will be introduced to different animals and vehicles. The fun car design encourages imaginative play with a traffic light, a signal lever that triggers fun sounds and music and a gear shifter that pushes and pulls to introduce opposites. The toy car also has three play modes so your little driver can learn in animal, driving and music mode.

Q: Is this toy bpa, pthalate, lead and pvc free?

submitted by Rose M - 5 years ago
  • A: All paints and substrates in VTech products comply with global phthalates requirements. All VTech products are phthalate-free or contain phthalates in concentrations less than 500ppm (0.05%), a much lower level than stipulated by the above-mentioned regulations. This lead content standard stipulates that the level of lead materials and substrates, of the parts or components that are accessible to children, should not exceed 300 parts per million (300 ppm, or 0.03%). The limit goes down to 100ppm on August 14, 2011. VTech’s products are not only compliant to the above-mentioned regulations but to a much more stringent degree. The level of lead content for all accessible components for VTech’s products are less than 90ppm (0.009%). VTech remains sensitive to consumer demands for BPA-free products. The vast majority of VTech’s products are not designed for being mouthed, sucked on or chewed by children. This said, VTech has undertaken to only use BPA-free materials on all products for children below 3 years. Products intended for higher aged children are reviewed, on an individual basis at the design stage. VTech is committed to having no migratable BPA will be found in our products and substitute all BPA-monomers raw materials if technically feasible. VTech is unaware of any study or evidence that suggests the existence of PVC in products pose a health risk to children. VTech remains sensitive to consumer demands for PVC-free products and is committed to investigating and utilizing reasonable alternatives to PVC. VTech also does not support the use of latex or natural rubber in our products as well as flame retardants. Flame retardants such as polybrominated biphenyl(PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ether(PBDE) are strictly prohibited in our toys to meet the requirement of RoHS in both the US and EU. There are state laws to restrict the use of TCEP and TDCPP, chemicals that are flame retardants as well. Our mission is not only to make excellent learning toys but also toys that are safe for the child and that meet all safety requirements.
