Wish it was louder
Fun but what’s the deal with the volume? I know I sound like a crazy parent wishing a toy was louder, but here I am. It’s frustrating on Bluetooth mode bc kid can’t even hear song over her drum beats.

We’ve had two of these and they have both stopped working the same way. The power button will light up the screen briefly but it will not turn on. The warranty window is too short, they keep getting more expensive, and there’s clearly an issue with the way they are manufacturing these. Super disappointing.

Short battery life :(
It’s nice. I understand the need for low-ish volume. It’s just really easy to drown it out with regular household noise. What really bothers me is that the batteries don’t last very long and it while it has the opening to connect a 6v universal power cord. I have to buy it myself. For the price I paid it should have just come with the cord included :(

Stopped working after 6 months
My son received this last Christmas (2024) and it stopped working in June 2025. Vtech said they wouldn’t send a new one even with proof of purchase because their return window is 3 months. My son loved this toy and was so disappointed when it stopped working. He received the vtech DJ toy for his bday in July but we returned it since we can’t trust this line to last. This toy was barely worth the $50 last year so it’s crazy that it’s now $70. Disappointed in vtech.

Fun but short warranty
This was a super fun toy while it lasted. My son especially enjoyed recording himself. Unfortunately it stopped turning on after 5 months. Target return window has closed and the manufacturer only offers a 3 month warranty. I would expect 1 year for a toy at this price point.

Nice while it lasted
My son loved this toy but it stopped working after about 6 months of use. They said it is only returnable within 3 months after purchase. Even with new batteries the backlight only works when pressing the power button, otherwise no sign of life. Bummer
