Bought this while on a fantastic price! But haven't given to our grandson yet. But after all the information I read on it. I thought it would be a Great first step into learning. Great Characters and colors and fun steps to follow. Simple easy to use.

This was basically impossible to use if you have a Mac. My Mac did not recognize the leapstart when connected and it took you through a lot of steps to troubleshoot, only to still not work. I connected to a non-Mac laptop and it worked perfectly fine, not sure what the problem is. It works as it should and I really love how many book options there are. Really versatile and great alternative to screen time. Just don’t buy if the only computer/laptop you have is a Mac bc it might not work.

Stopped working after 3 months for no reason. Just stopped working, won't charge nothing at all. Unfortunately it's outside the return window so I'm out of luck. The old version lasted forever, years. I'm afraid this one is just like many products nowadays, built to break instead of built to last.

Both of my kids absolutely love these. I have an almost 2 and an almost 4 year old. The pages are durable and easy to turn. There is also a headphone jack which will be great for traveling. I definitely recommend getting additional books. We were able to find a bunch second hand. My two complaints with this product are 1. The set up for new books is kind of a pain. You have to connect it to a computer and it takes a while to do. 2. The pricing on these is all over the place from $20-$45. I got target to do a price match when they dropped down to that low price, but it’s just kind of surprising it would be such a wide range of pricing.

Oh man, after a few hours lost to this thing, I cannot say it enough - DO NOT BUY IF YOU ARE A MAC USER. Leapfrog customer service is awful. Their troubleshooting is trash. I’ve looked on reddit, apple, the internet!!!!! and no one can provide an account of successful connection to download new books. I am so glad I didn’t spend more money on this horrible system. NOT FOR MAC USERS!!!!!
Company is being cheap with their product.

One of the books it came with- Cory Carson- has several pages missing, and the company (LeapFrog VTech) refuses to acknowledge that this is a problem. The books themselves are really expensive. The product itself is really cool and my daughter loves it and is learning a lot but I am really disgruntled about the customer service.
Son likes it a lot. Battery life questionable

It’s super cool. My 4 year old really likes it. Only reason for three stars was the battery died within two days of getting it. Hoping it was just a fluke.

Granddaughter took to it right way. And she isn't 3 yet. I like the part where it's expandable. In this world of "disposable" toys, It seems to be a company based on the Child's actual growth. Makes it more like an investment into their future and even fun along the way.
Perfect gift!
