Wagner 725 Steamer Black/Gray Wallpaper Steamer

One however had a princess scene on her wa i was not looking forward to removing. Texture of cheap trashbags when i put it up. Removed easily. Took nearly all the anticipated work out of the project!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is a very useful tool in the removal of wallpaper, especially with the older wallpaper that was installed in the 70's and 80's. Having the 2 different sized steamer attachments (steam plates) was beneficial. I would definitely recommend it to anyone tackling a large wallpaper removal job. You do have to be careful to not use too much steam in one area as it will start to take the paint off the wall below the paper. I found that when the wall was painted previously with a gloss paint the steamer separated the paper and the glue from the wall. However on walls painted with flat paint the steamer separated the glue from the paper very easily, but the glue then needed to be removed from the wall with a cleaner. I believe this is due to the paint used and not the performance of the steamer. Pros: Very easy to use. The long cord and hose are handy (no extension cord needed). Puts out a great amount of steam. Cons: No on/off switch, as you have to unplug it to turn it off. It could use a clip or holder for the steam plates to hang on so you do not have to lay it on the floor (and water leaks onto the floor/carpet).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used Wagner 725 steamer in an old house, built in the sixties, to remove the wallpaper and followed the recommended 10 seconds duration that prevented the excessive softening of the drywall. For doing a large house, I had to fill the tank multiple times, but its extreme portability quickly counteracted this relative quirk. As a result, I could get around 1 hour and 45 minutes on a full tank. The two different sizes plates worked perfectly for covering both large and small areas. In addition, the steamer was straightforward to assemble. I had used the fabric softener technique earlier to remove the wallpaper, but this steamer works so much better. In addition, there is no extra money coming out of your pocket as it just uses plain water. After using this steamer, there is no sense to rent a steamer unless you are doing the job at a commercial level or daily. Incidentally, I found this steamer to do a bonus job of steaming the wrinkles of the traditional Indian suits, especially for women. It has replaced the old clunky steamer that I was using for the dresses, and I was delighted to hear from my wife how smart I am for using it on her beautiful dresses. This steamer seems to be a great asset, requiring almost no space for storage, ready to roll in few minutes, and capable of completing various jobs with professional results. I highly recommend it. If it breaks, my wife will make me repurchase it.

Then start striping wall paper. Definitely works faster then chemicals and way less mess would totally recommend even if only doing one room it would be worth having.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works really well. It came with multiple adapters to use depending on the job size. I personally like the smaller adapter as it seems to concentrate all the steam. I did have a problem with it leaking at the hose at the hose connection but some but was fixed with some Teflon tape. I would advise you to wear gloves when using. It's a great product that lasts quite awhile on one tank of water. It made it so much easier to remove wallpaper. I even used it to steam some of the wrinkles out of my shirts. It would have been nice to have a bag to store all the supplies but not that big of deal. For the price I would highly recommend it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wall paper removal made easy. Used to remove vinyl type wall paper. Work pretty good but work better when I scored the surface of the paper. Setup was easy. Cleanup was minimal. Hose could longer or addition hose offered. I will suggest this equipment to my co workers.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] . I had to remove 20+ year old wall paper in the half bath. The wall paper from 20 years ago is nothing like what they use today, when it went on it was not intended to come off. I used the Wagner 725 Power Steamer. After steaming for about 30 seconds to 1 minute I was able to pull the outer vinyl layer off. Then I went back over a second time to loosen the paper/glue side. It took a little scraping but it came off. Caution! Be advised if you leave the steamer in one place to long it will also loosen the paint and it’s wants to peel off also. This steamer works great but remember you are working with steam so it will burn your hands if not careful. Some people work with gloves but I can’t so I just took my time and was aware of it. I’ve removed wall paper in the past and it was a nightmare. If you time is valuable I would strongly recommend this product. It saved me a lot of time and hard work.

I was able to remove wallpaper from one wall within 15 minutes. It also made removing glue a piece of cake. The long hose made moving around easy. I would definitely recommend this unit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wagner knocks it out of the park again with the handheld wallpaper steamer. Decided to go with something I would own later and glad I did. Used to remove 30 year old wall paper in the bathroom and kitchen of a recently purchased home. Simple to assemble, easy to use. Follow instructions and allow the time needed to heat water to boil. Used big head for larger areas and smaller for detailed work or harder to remove areas. Had to work over a couple areas due to age and probably what amounted to the previous owner's patching the wall and not priming them before wallpaper application. Son used it for his living room remodel with really good results. Its not magic, and there is still a lot of work with scraping, peeling and working on stubborn areas. Not the fault of the tool, just the process.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Wagner 725 power steamer is perfect for wallpaper/border removal. Started to produce good heavy steam around 15 minutes or so after plugging in, dripped a small amount of boiling hot water for a minute or so before that. Fixed this by placing the steam plate in a bucket to catch the excess. Removed a border and one wall of wallpaper in a bedroom and a border in a bathroom. Took about an hour and had steam the entire time. Used the small plate on the border because of its size, noticed if not placed completely flat on wall a small amount of steam would escape and could burn your hand. Gloves fixed this. Wallpaper was easily removed with a small putty knife after being throughly saturated. 12 foot hose and machines light weight made it easy to move throughout the job. Steam hose and power cord attach quick and easy. Will continue to use on future removal jobs. Would highly recommend to friends and family, or anyone for that matter. Came apart and was ready to put away almost as quick as it’s set up.

My only regret is that I do not have more wallpaper in my house to remove. Wallpaper has always been a chore to remove for me and ends up in me pulling shreds off the wall like I just removed an old price tag. I really wish I had this device around 10 years ago.

It does take a little longer to remove thicker or vinyl wallpaper, but it is definitely worth purchasing. I have removed wallpaper using DIF and the scoring tool for several years. I have never bought a steamer until now. I wish I could get back all of the hours I spent scraping wallpaper. I was worried because this steamer was so inexpensive. It worked perfectly. I highly recommend this steamer to save yourself a lot of time and aggravation

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After using the Wagner 725 Wallpaper Steamer I would highly recommend it for removing that stubborn wallpaper. I recently used the Steamer to remove 30 year old wallpaper that was installed without proper drywall surface preparation. After scoring the paper I found that it was removed with little difficulty. The drywall paper pulled loose in a couple of spots, but not near as bad as some that I removed earlier using only a commercial removal solution, water and a scraper. Follow the directions, especially for using distilled water. It works best. The only negative would be that it is difficult to see the water level in the reservoir. But that is pretty minor... If you have wallpaper to remove this is the product for the job. You will not be disappointed!

I've been putting off removing outdated wallpaper borders in our master bedroom and bathroom and for years now because I didn't want deal with the chemicals, mess and wall repair that I've experienced in the past. The Wagner 725 Wallpaper Steamer made the job super simple and fast. The borders came off easily and I didn't have any repairs to make. I couldn't be any happier with the results.

I've only done it the old fashioned way by using a scouring tool and peeling off each piece. It was very tedious work and I will never go back to the old way. This is the way to go! It's much easier than I expected and worked like a charm. I used it to remove wallpaper boarder in a bathroom and it was a really quick process. I also used a putty knife to help speed things along. I would definitely recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Exactly what is needed for removing unwanted wallpaper. This is also a necessity of you need to remove linoleum or vinyl flooring. Pros: works great for what it's intended purpose is. Cons: cannot be used for disinfecting, cleaning, or unwrinkling clothing as there is no pressure behind the steam. All in all it is a very helpful tool in doing what it is made to do. The large pad accelerates the removing of the paper with ease. Just a good flat scraping tool and steam is all that is required. Simple to drain and clean. Long extension hose that does not burn you was great to have.
