Review Quotes
"Skillshare Top Teacher and artist Rosalie Haizlett introduces her signature teaching style and artistic approach to new audiences through this stunning and accessible book." --Skillshare
"This book has everything you need to capture the beauty of the natural world through watercolor--no prior experience needed!" --Kolbie Blume, artist, art educator and author of Wilderness Watercolor Landscapes "Rosalie Haizlett will be your guide, coach and support system as you venture out in nature with brush and palette." --John Muir Laws, author of The Laws Guide to Nature Drawing and Journaling "Watercolor in Nature is not only a treasure box of tips and techniques, but a surprisingly inspirational intersection of creativity, nature and well-being." --Maggie Enterrios, illustrator and author of Flowerscape "Along with teaching how to paint, Rosalie also lets us slow down and rediscover our own sense of wonder in the close-up details of nature. This book is a celebration of curiosity as much as it is a practical guide to learning the tools and techniques of watercolor." --Gale Straub, creator of She Explores "This book will teach you magic painting skills for capturing nature, but more surprisingly, it does something even more fundamental: it creates an environment where you will most certainly be captured by the magic of nature!" --Andy J. Pizza, illustrator and founder of the Creative Pep Talk podcastAbout the Author

As a visual artist and nature enthusiast, I am taking delight in exploring the watercolor activities in Rosalie's charming book. Watercolor is a newer medium for me, but I am building confidence with ease thanks to Rosalie's step-by-step process. I took a watercolor class when I was younger, but felt very discouraged as they threw us in with ambitious projects and techniques right away. However, as an artist, I admire how accessible Rosalie's lessons are. She shows readers how to start sketches by looking for geometric shapes and how to add depth and detail using elements of art and principles of design (i.e. creating texture with small dots or little lines). I am enjoying these art exercises because sometimes I want to draw and paint but I don't know where to begin. That feeling often keeps me from doing anything. But with Rosalie's book, she curated such a great selection of woodland wildlife and botanicals to work on. These plants and animals are rich with color, pattern, and texture and really makes you appreciate the natural world. Rosalie's genuine voice comes through as she shares her insights, welcoming anyone to enjoy watercolor and nature. She is a great guide into this foray and following along step-by-step will leave you feeling relaxed and satisfied.
