The fun Stringham family is back and I was thrilled to get Frederica's story! She's full of spunk and sass and I'm here for it. Frederica and Samuel were childhood frenemies and their families always planned that they would wed. Neither one is thrilled about the marriage, for different reasons, but neither of them put up a fuss about it. Thanks to Frederica the proposal scene was really witty and humorous. Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes because of the wit and banter between the characters. I also love watching the main characters learn to understand each other and see them fall in love. I got all of that and more with Frederica and Samuel. Those two had amazing chemistry and the kisses were sizzling. They just had to learn to trust one another. I loved the added suspense of the Napoleonic War woven into the story--I love reading about spying and undercover assignments. Samuel was really able to see just what his bride was made of, if he didn't already know. I was completely taken with Frederica and Samuel's story and couldn't wait to see how long it would take them to figure everything out. There are kisses throughout the book that are a little spicier. There is nothing further than kisses. The main characters marry and share a bed. There are some mild innuendos and the scenes in bed fade to black. I would say it is a clean PG-13. I received a complimentary copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in this review are my own.
