Valerie Conley Chapman is worked at Utica College. Her photography has been published in Birds of the Adirondacks and Mammals of the Adirondacks.

Alan E. Bessette is distinguished emeritus professor of biology at Utica College. He authored or coauthored many books, including Common Edible and Poisonous Mushrooms of New York and The Rainbow Beneath My Feet: A Mushroom Dyer's Field Guide.

Arleen R. Bessette
is a retired psychotherapist, as well as a mycologist and botanical photographer. She is the authored or coauthored several books including Mushrooms of the Southeastern United States and
Wildflowers of Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont in Color.
