Women's Midi Empire Waist Dress - Ava & Viv™

This dress is was way too big. When I put it on two of me could have fit into it. This dress was sized wrong. This dress would have been very comfortable. The color of this dress is my favorite color. I was so happy to have seen a dress in this color and style.

My favorite summer dress this year! It is roomy in the bust but the pattern and the shape makes up for it!

I think the material of this dress is not cotton, it is polyester fabric. But still, I like this dress, it is more of relaxed style dress; yes, it runs a little big, but it's ok, it is not a special occasion dress, it is comfortable, light summer dress. Easy to wash and dry, no need to iron, no shrinkage. I got green stripes dress, very cute. I washed it before wearing and it became soft and flowing.

This dress is just not good. The fabric is starchy and scratchy; there’s no glow or movement. I’m 5’11” and it fit me like a maxi, not a midi. Even with the stretchy panel in the back, it was tight in the chest, but the bottom was like a tent. Immediate return. The only plus was the pattern. Please make more plus size patterns that aren’t florals!!

Perfect dress, great length, not too full. I wish it had been available in more of the colors shown. Quality cotton material.

I love the style of this dress! I have a large bust so I usually size up in shirts to accommodate. I purchased a 3x and it was HUGE. There was lots of extra fabric under the armpits, which I never have an issue with. Because of my large bust, the top portion of the dress just sat on my bust, it didn’t come under to sort of “accentuate”. It made my bust look flat and smashed, even though it wasn’t tight at all. There’s no stretch to the fabric so it just laid on top, which looked odd to me. I then purchased a 2X and had the same issues, fabric laid on top of my bust and tons of extra fabric under the armpits. I didn’t even bother trying on the 1x at that point. The style of this dress is so cute, I’m bummed it didn’t work out for me. Oh, and it’s pockets!

Runs big but super comfortable on summer days.

Looks just like the picture, but definitely runs large. I got my usual 1x and I definitely could've done L. Going to keep it because I actually like the relaxed look it gives. Love that it has pockets too!

So so cute! It was perfect for Easter! Definitely size down it runs big! The straps button so you can easily cross them in the back for a slightly different style too! I’m wearing a 1x

Too tight in the chest. Too big everywhere else. I tried styling this dress so many ways because I really wanted to love it. Normal size was comically large and unflattering. Sized down - still unwearable. Straps would not stay up and could not be adjusted. Waistline seemed way high up. Pockets very high too. Overall not what I’m used to with Ava & Viv. The only pro - cute patterns. Would not recommend this one. Sent both back

Just received my dress, light weigh, fits great, looks great on my 5'2 body. Purchased the black

Size Down Normally wear a 2x (20) and got the xxl after reading reviews to size down. Even tightening the shoulder straps didn’t help. The top is just too big and leaves gaps. Sadly they don’t make an xl so I just have find something different. This is sooo cute I’m sad it runs so big

I got the xxl, which is usually what I buy at Target, but it’s huge on me! Wish I could get a size or 2 smaller cause it’s suuuper cute.

finally a cute gingham plus size dress!! it’s so pretty and very thin for summer. size down! I normally wear a 2X and the XXL fits perfect.

Bought the gingham in xxl since most said it runs big. For reference (so this review helps you) my bra size is 42/44C and my body shape is sort of pear 🍐 or hourglass ⌛️. Bottom is size 22 in Ava and Viv wide leg jeans. The XXL fits just right and the material is seersucker which if you click on the gingham dress and read the description below it says the percentage of cotton and spandex. All the other colors/patterns of this dress are more like poplin and not the airy seersucker material of the gingham. Hope this review helps you. Happy shopping!

Loose in the top, more like 3x and is a bit see through - if you're in the sun you'll have to wear a slip or shapewear

Beautiful fun summer dress. Im a 20/22 so I bought 2x womens size & needed to size down to XXL

This is gorgeous. The gingham print is beautiful and timeless. Material is lightweight and breathable and almost like wrinkle resistant.

The print is so cute and I wanted to love this, but I found the shape odd. I am pear shaped and smaller on top but this dress was HUGE in the top portion. The bodice (upper portion of dress) was too short and it hung mid boob area making the dress look very maternity. The top portion needs to be a couple inches longer even though it is empire in style. If you are busty this might work for you?
