Q: No matter what folders I try to hang on rods, they all drag and stick along the rods, while sticking and catching and jaggedly pulling the foil coating that came on the rods themselves. What folders are you supposed to use inside this?

A: spray some wax funiture spay on cloth and polish the rods/ they will slide easy. could be rods a little dry. this will help

The metal rods perfectly and securely hold letter-size hanging folders with about 8.25” of depth (front to back) for storage. The files slide perfectly on the metal rods. Legal-size hanging folders will not fit.

Q: Are these designed to stack one on top of the other? Also, Ignoring design intention can these file boxes stack nicely without wobble or falling?

I was looking for small unique looking crates to house some of my vinyl records. I play some more often than others and wanted to separate them. I was in Target and just happened to see this item and was so excited. When I looked, I saw that it was a filing setting. I took it over to the area where the sell vinyl records, I saw that an album could fit in there perfectly if I removed the rods. I bought one, took it home and used a pvc cutter to cut the rods in the center and then used pliers to pull them out. Whala!! Perfect and beautiful. I went back and bought two more. They look great!

i was looking to get a file cabinet but i hate the big ugly tin ones and they’re so expensive. looking online and found these and they are PERFECT! you can put so much in here and for only $20 you can’t beat the price. it’s great quality and i love it for sure. will definitely buy another one and i’ll stop being lazy and just organize paperwork lol.

I got a couple of these boxes to see if I could use them modular organization for my closet shelf, and was pleasantly surprised. The brass details look really polished and make for a more thoughtful looking product. I was worried about the faux wood but tbh, it was so much smoother and less splintery than the comparably priced fully wood box (which I also bought, then immediately returned) that I’m convinced. The file hook rod thingies don’t get in the way and might help hold things in place. We’ll see how they hold up, but I think I’m getting more!

I bought this to put my files on my office bookshelf and this makes it look way better then my other setup. It has the little metal bars on the side and hanging file folders fit great. No complaints.
Love the look, but the wood bleeds and the corners rust.

We love how these boxes look, but every time we pull them in and out of our cabinet they leave stain streaks all over the shelf. The corner piece of one has already come off, and there is a rust forming even though we don't have a moisture problem.

We purchased this to hide our modem, routers & cables under a new open table we got. My husband drilled the hole on the back using a round bit & tape. It held together better than I thought it might during this process. There’s also a power strip inside at the bottom & it’s the perfect depth to hold it flat. I’m super happy with this purchase! Mine came with felt feet on each of the metal brackets on the bottom, which was a nice surprise.

These are beautiful, and made out of lightweight wood. Quality seems great, though I have not put my files in yet. The only negative for me is that they are 9 1/8 inch, not 9 inches, as indicated. For my application, the additional 3/8 of an inch with three boxes made all the difference. For most people, it is probably not an inconvenience. I still love the boxes, and will probably just relocate a couple of them.

I have 2, I don’t use them for files and actually removed the metal bars on the inside so I can use them to hold my records, they look like they cost a lot more than they did and they really elevate the vibe. Would recommend :)
