Q: How would you sterilize it?

A: You can't truly sterilize it. The package says to wash in the washing machine in a mesh bag, however, I'm uneasy using detergents on the paci as its porous and goes in baby's mouth...

I had a couple from a few years ago we never used and my recent newborn loves them. I just bought a couple more and they no longer use the Avent Soothies on them. The pacifier now is thicker, heavier, and a sticky material that attracts all sorts of fuzz and hair. I hope they bring back the original pacifier!

Gave this to my baby at 1-2 months old, baby did not like it at all. The nipple was too hard and didn't sit in baby's mouth naturally. I was going to throw away, but I gave it again to baby at 3-4 months, when baby's hands were a little more curious and liked to hold onto things. Baby LOVES it and chooses this pacifier over the prior ones. The stuffed animal gives baby something to hold onto. Downside? You can't remove the pacifier to wash. Not sure if I should throw the entire thing into a dishwasher or washing machine. I came back and purchased the one with detachable pacifier. The stuffed animal itself uses good, sturdy cloth that doesn't rip easily or fall apart. Note, the original design (with attached pacifier) has cuter animals, and I did purchase the dog and penguin.

These are the only pacis my son will take and the attached stuffed animal makes it easy for him to find in his crib should it fall out in the middle of his sleep. I love that Target has a wonderful variety of animals to choose from instead of just the grey elephant. We have ordered these time and time again and we love them! The best part is that I can just throw them in the laundry to get the stuffed animal clean!
