About the Author

Mauli Junior Bonner is a Grammy Award-winning songwriter and acclaimed film director who works to promote representation for communities of color through the arts. Chantél Bonner is a licensed marriage and family therapist and sound practitioner who works to uplift and heal marginalized communities through therapy and holistic wellness. Together Mauli and Chantél are the cofounders and directors of the nonprofit Lift Up Voices, which provides various resources to underserved children in disadvantaged areas.

The Bonners enjoy creating meaningful stories that add diversity to children's home libraries while supporting healthy family conversations surrounding love and acceptance of all people. They have also authored a book entitled A Child of God that shares a faith-filled message celebrating the splendor in all God's children. Chantél and Mauli have been happily married for fourteen years and live in California with their two beautiful children.

Gigi Moore is an illustrator, designer, and owner of MoGigi(TM) based in Virginia. She is the illustrator of Hear My Prayer by award-winning author Lee Bennett Hopkins. Gigi attended Moore College of Art & Design, focusing on illustration, and ECPI University for web development. She loves creating captivating illustrations that transcend industries, from crafting cute characters and enchanting animal designs to celebrating diverse imagery, especially women of color.

When Gigi isn't drawing for work, she enjoys drawing for fun while listening to music or watching movies and TV shows.
