Wish the filter lasted longer, pricey
Zero water filter filters slowly, is costly to replace filters and starts tasting like fish when the filter gets old. It does an excellent job if filtering the water, but only for 15 days.

It works!
I can’t believe how well this filter actually works! It comes with a tester gauge and the water after filtration literally has zero contaminates!

Absolutely hate this water filter
This water pitcher is terrible! First of all, it barely holds any water. I can use the entire pitcher just to fill up my water bottle. I am constantly refilling it. Secondly, the pitcher is difficult to pour and usually spills all over the place. I’ve only had this pitcher for a month and the water taste has changed. It’s bitter / almost citrusy and I cannot drink it. I’ve switched back to my Brita water pitcher, which holds more water, is easier to pour, and the water tastes normal!

Doesn't work well for those with hard water minerals in your water. It only worked for a couple days till it said time to change the filter.
I have hard water and few days later it was time to already change the filter. We have a lead problem so I was hoping to find a good system so I’ll just use it for my dog.

Water leaks while pouring to glass
Not good. Takes long time to fill up entire pitcher. TDS tester got damaged. Please replace with better quality pitcher.

Terrible Design
When pouring, this thing tends to spew water like it couldn't care less if it filled your cup, wet your hands, or your floor. Somewhere along the way, an industrial designer did not have enough time, talent, and/or pay to make a decent product.

Good filter, good customer service, bad pitcher design
The filter is great and the package comes with a "thermometer" device to stick in your water and measure the TDS (total dissolved solids) so you can know how well it's filtering those out. The customer service on the phone is also great. But the pitcher design is not good. You have to pour water from the sink into the white resevoir at the top of the pitcher, and it takes a while for it to filter, so filling the pitcher from empty takes about 20 minutes. If you try to pour already filtered water from the pitcher while the reservoir is full or partially full and filtering, the unfiltered spills out while you're pouring. I wanted to love this, but I'm going to try another brand.

Fishy smell
Something has changed. I have used these for years but recently filters don't last and give water a horrid smell. Not sure what the change is but I will be finding an alternative.

Terrible Industrial Design. Bad ergonomics. Horrid water sealing.
The Brita brand’s water sealing and overall industrial design is far superior to Zero Water. I only switched to Zero water because of the supposed better filter. This was a huge mistake. With Brita, I am used to being able to pour water as it filters without any spillage from the top cavity where the unfiltered water is contained. With Zero water, you have to wait until all the water has filtered before pouring, if not it will pour everywhere out of the top reservoir. In addition, the top that you have to take off and on is a pain. Instead of a door that opens and shuts on a hinge, you have to pry off a lid every time you want to fill it. The product requires it be set down and have two hands to use it, where as with a Brita I can open and fill all one handed while holding the pitcher. The zero water lid and top reservoir also isn’t even water tight. Zero water seriously needs to redesign this product and hire good human factors engineers and industrial designers- the current user experience is awful! Water everywhere, no seal, klunky to fill, klunky to pour, looks super dated, and just sucks. No superior filtered water quality is worth the headache. I’ll have to go buy a brita again and return this.

Makes water worse
Water coming out of the filter (even new) tastes acidic and after a few pitchers i noticed that it began to give a higher ppm than the tap water.
1 reply from ZeroWater Team team - 11 months ago
Thank you for taking the time to post your review. A change in the taste of the water is indicative of a filter that has been used beyond the point of exhaustion. In order to avoid a change in the taste of the water, use the included TDS meter to test the filtered water regularly and change the filter when the meter reads 006 on filtered water.

It may have a lot of reviews, but it ain't worth it unless yiu lile fish smelling water
I noticed that my tea kettle started to smell fishy, then my humidifier, then water started tasting real weird in my water bottle. The constant in this was I only used water from this water pitcher. I never had this issue with my Brita pitcher that I had for 10+ years that I cleaned the same amount as this thing.

In order to avoid a change in the taste or smell of the water it is important to test the water regularly as recommended and change the filter when the digital meter reads 006.

OK pitcher but the lid is ridiculous
This is a decent starter pitcher for one person, but the lid design is horrible and I would warn people with arthritis or any sort of hand weakness away from this model. Instead of a handle, there are shallow indentations in the lid which are impossible to grip and will slip out of your fingers readily when wet. Heaven forbid you close the lid to the reservoir fully, it seals so tightly that you will need to stick your fingers into the spout to pry it back off to refill it. Can't imagine how something this poorly designed passed through product development.

Defective
Disappointed and had to return. The top cover comes in two parts and is awkward to work with. The plastic is much thinner than the older Zero container I was replacing. I was afraid I was going to break it trying to screw the filter on. The filter was difficult to get on and did not seal completely. Water to fill the container seeped through the top of the filter and into the pitcher missing the filter completely. Will look at some of the other pitchers/containers to see if the plastic is flimsier and how well the filter attaches.

Avoid At All Costs
Hands down the WORST water filter I’ve ever purchased. Didn’t work from day 1 to the last day I owned it. Filter constantly filled with air bubbles that prevented the system from working and none of the recommended solutions ever fixed the problem. Only produced clean water 20% of the time. The best part about purchasing was the feeling I got when I cracked the filter in half and threw the whole system in the trash. Would rate zero stars if it were possible.

Water is great but the jug sucks
I bought the 7 cup one and firstly it took me 13 triesto screw in the filter which kept on and on leaking each time; this should not be something I have to do repeatedly. Secondly, having let the water go through the filter and sit at the bottom of the jug, when I go to pour the water the white upper part falls out! There is no way to remedy this. My old Zero unit also had just one lid but this stupid thing has 2 sections which is crazy. I'm wondering if zero was sold to a different manufacturer and the quality has gone down? Sadly, I'm probably going to return this to Target which is a shame because the filter is way superior in my mind to Britta..

Water leaks from filter attachment point so not filtering
Looked like just what I needed but as a previous reviewer stated, water leaks at the connection point between the screw in filter and white insert. I tried adjusting it several times with no success. Returning it today. Will try a different brand. I do like how quick the tester worked. Bottled water came in at 0ppm. Tap here is 533ppm so needs to be filtered.

7 cup water filter leaks from top of filters
This 7 cup pitcher leaks no matter how loosely/tightly you adjust the filter. This is the second one I have bought in the past several months (since I thought the first one was maybe just defective) and both of them leak water through the top of the filter; it drips down inside into the pitcher bypassing the filter; so some percentage of the water is not getting filtered at all. This happened using many OEM filters; all of them leaked, so it must be the pitcher that is at fault. I had one previously for years (an older Zerowater 7 cup model) that never leaked at all. I replaced it only because it had been many years and plastic degrades. Unfortunately, I could not take the part that connects to the filter from the old one and use it with the new one(s) or I would have; due to the redesign, it does not fit the new ones.
