Look for IP ratings called out in product listings. The results show IP67 on some projectors (noted for water and dust resistance for outdoor use) and IP44 on certain large tent/flagpole string-light kits (noted as tolerant of rain and frost). These ratings indicate the level of weather protection referenced for outdoor use.

Smaller strings and many toppers are plug-and-play or require no assembly. Freestanding spirals and tabletop pieces typically ask you to attach a base, pole sections, coil, and star finial. Larger outdoor pieces (archways, flagpole/tent kits) require connecting parts, screwing on a star topper and securing the structure with stakes, ropes, or zip ties. Many projectors simply use a ground stake or plug-in cord for placement.
