Care instructions vary by product. Many recommend spot-cleaning or wiping down; several child-focused packs note removable sleeves that can be hand-washed or machine-washed cold. Other items advise cleaning with water and mild detergent or simply wiping with warm water.
Typical materials include plastic or PVC casings, fabrics such as nylon, spandex, or polyester (sometimes with recycled content), and nontoxic internal gel.
Most packs stay cold for about 1–2 hours after removal from the freezer. A few long‑lasting gel packs are described as remaining cold for around 3 hours.
Common sizes range from small eye/child packs (around 4 in × 4 in or 5 in × 4 in) up to larger gel packs of about 13 in × 8 in.
