Stretch figures are commonly made from rubber or thermoplastic rubber (TPR). Plush versions typically use polyester fabric, and some plush fills are made from spun recycled water bottles.

Sizes range from mini figures around 2.5 inches, to mid-size stretch figures commonly about 3–8 inches, up to plush toys of roughly 12 inches.

Rubber or TPR figures can stretch, be pulled, and wiggle—mini figures may stretch up to about four times their size. Plush versions are full-body poseable and can bend or coil from head to tail.
