U-bend LED tubes typically use a medium bi-pin G13 (2-pin) base. U-shaped filament bulbs in the C9 size use an intermediate screw base, commonly labeled E17 (C9/E17).

U-bend LED tubes can be installed several ways: as plug-and-play replacements that work with existing fluorescent ballasts, or via ballast bypass/hardwiring in single-end or dual-end configurations. Some models also support direct 120V or 277V wiring.

Some U-bend tubes include a 3CCT switch offering 3500K, 4000K, and 5000K options. Brightness is typically in the ~2,100–2,150 lumen range, varying by the selected color setting and model.

Common U-bend LED tubes use about 17.5 watts and are marketed as replacements for approximately 32-watt fluorescent tubes, producing roughly 2,100 lumens.

Dimming availability varies by model. Some U-shaped C9 filament bulbs are dimmable. Some U-bend tubes include a 3CCT switch that changes color temperature and the associated lumen output per setting, but that switch is not the same as continuous dimming unless the product specifically lists dimmable functionality.

Some U-shaped LED tubes and decorative bulbs are UL listed or UL certified, depending on the model. Product listings often note that LED bulbs contain no mercury; check each product’s label or spec sheet for its specific certifications and safety statements.
