Q: Does the light bulb able to be dimmed?

  • A: Yes you can lower the brightness on each color and including soft and bright white about 4/5 intervals. Very useful. One of the color flow programs can adjust the brightness as well (the others use that setting to slow/increase the speed of the color change intervals like on light strips)

  • A: It should. There should be a clear plastic separator tab that you need to remove that’s separating the battery and the base from contacting each other until you’re ready to use it/so battery isn’t wasted before you buy it.

  • A: It’s just like a regular light bulb that you screw into a lamp. Turn the lap lamp on after screwing it in, and after that you can use the remote control to turn the light on and off from a distance. No longer need to touch the actual lamp from then on. But it needs electricity from an actual power source like a regular lamp or any typical screw in light bulb.

    good for old pull chain fixtures

    Half of our house is old knob and tube wiring. the kids keep breaking the fixtures due to pulling too hard. I replaced the bulbs with these and now they can use the remote like a light switch. it's awesome.

    Stopped Working less than 2 Weeks after

    DISSAPOINTMENT

    A total disappointment. I was excited to purchase this light build bulb and it did not work. I installed it on my lamp that I bought specifically for this light bulb and it did not work. The remote control did not work at all even after removing the battery protector film AND buying a new battery to replace the on that it came with.

    Do not buy.... Fake 5 star reviews.

    The app is trash. Never works have to uninstall it and reinstall it for it to work. Do not buy these light bulbs. They are trash. The app is garbage GE should be embarrassed!!!!!!!!

    Lousy remote quality

    The lightbulb is great but the remote does not last. The little plastic breaks off. We have gone thru 2 remotes, but still on same bulb. I don't want to buy a 3rd bulb, just for the remote.

    The remote is abysmal but the bulb is cool

    They advertise a 13 year bulb but give you an utterly atrocious remote for it. I would pay double if it came with a dependable remote. I've had this since October and have enjoyed it until now. Maybe I can turn the light off today and maybe I can't; enjoy remote roulette. Also, their (GE) website is horrendous. While the bulb is a rare bright spot, the remote is so shockingly bad, it ruins the entire experience. The remote is infuriatingly bad. I cannot believe how poorly made it is.

    Doesn't work

    When you use the remote, it changes what’s on your tv. We had started a movie on Netflix, and when I hit the remote to change the bulb color, it restarted the movie. I hit the remote a few more times to test, and it kept changing what was on the tv (as well as the bulb color). Then when I shut off the lamp and left it alone, it started flickering back on and we decided to just unplug it. Disappointed and going to return. I initially thought it was app-controlled but didn’t check thoroughly.

    Defective now. Recall these and give us the ones that work back!

    I bought the first version of this light bulb. Love it. I had 3 in my house and bought 3 for my boyfriend an his kids. They all still work an are from 2022 Christmas. They are the old style remote without dual color. Then I got my first dual color one last year. 2023. It worked great. Went an got 4 more of these today Dec 2024. None of them work! 4 not working light bulbs. I swore on these until today. It was the best little 10$ color change light. But all these comments. These must be defective set. Recall them and take them off the shelf!

    Didn't want another app, love these

    I'm so sick of apps clogging up my phone, wanted a remote option. Fun colors but the only dimmable ones are the boring white, which is fine because I didn't buy them for that. I have 2 in a floor lamp, and I can have them 2 different colors: just aim the remote more specifically at one bulb, not the other. I change my color combos depending on mood, but mostly holidays/time of year.
