A: The shade does have threads of gray streaked throughout, though it appears more tan when illuminated. It.s not a cream white if that's the color you are looking for. Thank you for the question.

A: Hi - it is not clear. You can see vague outlines of shapes though the glass, but the pattern on the glass obscures them from being seen clearly.

Q: The description says the shade is Gray...the picture looks brown. Which is it?

A: Hi - to our eye the shade is in a gray taupe color, so gray with an undertone of brown. The alternate image with the close-up of the shade shows this, we hope. The main image for the design shows the lamp with the bulb turned on. The yellowish color of the bulb is making the shade appear more brown than it is. It's good to remember that your choice of bulb will impact the look of any shade. Hope all this helps! Thank you for your question!

I love mercury glass and was hopeful. This lamp would look great in our guestroom. Unfortunately though the mercury glass base was pretty, the lampshade looks very cheap. The mercury glass is a gold silver color but lampshade has a purple tone. It's also shiny and oversize. Thr base and shade clash terribly. I'm disappointed I will return these lamps.

hi - the color issues you mention might be caused by the bulb you are using. This design has a silver mercury glass finish and and a gray color shade, but each can appear different depending on the color temperature of the bulb used. A really pretty lamp but the mercury glass base is somewhat see-through, which I didn't expect. The shade is more of a silky beige/gray color, really stunning, especially when lit.

LOVE these Lamps! Gorgeous, they are hollow inside, the base is felt, but that wasn’t a deal breaker for me. The shades are a beautiful color! They appear to be blush to my eyes instead of gray. The reviews were stellar, that’s what made my decision to make the purchase.

Very beautiful. Expected the bottom to be more than a thin felt covering over a hollow bottom. The glass does not continue across the bottom of the lamp, it is hollow. Would have given 5 stars if solid. Hardware and lamp overall is good quality.
