How to Detangle Curly Hair

Detangling Curly Hair

Disagreeable curls? Knot today. Ease that styling frustration with a few simple steps to detangle curls, kinks & coils.

Step 1: Wet your hair

Detangling your curls is easiest when hair is wet or damp—moisture makes strands more elastic & less likely to break. So hop in the shower to get things going.

Step 2: Apply deep conditioner & begin combing

After curls are nice & saturated, apply your fave deep conditioner & begin to comb through your hair. The intense hydration will help soften strands & create the slip you need to glide through tangles. Tip: section hair off & comb gently from the bottom as you work your way up.

Step 3: Rinse out conditioner

Patience is key…

Next, grab a clean t-shirt towel & gently wring out excess water. Avoid rubbing when you dry to prevent new tangles from forming.

Then, section hair off & begin to comb through your hair again before styling. Use a clip to hold sections in place.

Step 4: Apply styling product

Almost set. Apply your fave leave-in, hair oil or curl crème to damp hair to seal in moisture, lock out frizz & make your curls pop.
