No timer
There is no timer on the pump so it has to constantly run or you have to unplug it.

Pumped Up For This Pump
I live in New York, and use the pump (and pool) from June through September. I havehad the pump for four years and it works great. You just need to replace the filter every 2-3 weeks, but this is not a big deal.

Very lucky if you get 12 months, we certainly didn’t. In the cheapest filters (they are terrible as well) intex use metal crank shaft rods.. so why use plastic crank shaft rods in the dearer ranges? Because they’re made to break of course!.. So I pulled apart one of the three broken smaller ranges (that come with the pools) and swapped the metal rod with the broken plastic one and was pretty proud I got life back into it, only for two days later for the power chord to malfunction. It’s a pool filter.. it just sits there. Shouldn’t be too hard to make a durable product. Beyond disappointed in your not fit for purpose products across all ranges of your brand.

Stops working
So far 3 filters have stopped working in two months. The filter works for a few days then just stops circulating water even though I can hear the filter running.

Cheap defected pumps
I am so sick of these cheap defected pumps I am having to use. I am on pump 3. The original one that cane with the pool the elastic in the cap was stretched and water wouldn't stop flowing out the pump, therefore causing my water bill to be extremely high. The 2nd pump there was no control on the pump cord therefore the test, nor the reset button would work. I am really not excited to see what defect pump 3 is going to have. So my question is this, will I be reimbursed for my entire pool that we are not able to enjoy because of constant defected pumps. This is ridiculous.

NOT a happy swimmer at all !!!!
Replacement for a 2 year old that stopped working suddenly. This one works the same with one exception, the plug has a dial on it, numbered from zero to ten. It did not come with instructions so I have no idea what the dial is for. No matter how I set it, it doesn't run for more than about 3 hours. I have to keep turning it back to zero and then up to various numbers just to get it started again. I don't understand how this is supposed to work. Instructions would have been helpful. Right now I have to "babysit" the pump and my water is cloudy. Tonight I am draining it and refilling again tomorrow. I have never had cloudy water before. If it happens again I will know that it is the pump causing the problem. Instructions would have been VERY helpful!!!

MIsleading and Inaccurate Website Product Photos
I am happy with this pump as it does its job adequately However i was Very Disappointed to find my new pump did NOT have an adjustable dial timer built into the electrical plug as my old pump did, my old Intex pump allowed me to set the number of hours I wished the pump to run in a 24 hour period, and the new pump I purchased on line showed me the EXACT SAME type of dial control as I already had and enjoyed, so I ordered it.................... I was VERY disappointed to unpackage my new pump on the day of its arrival only to find it did NOT have the dial control I was shown on the website and thought I was purchasing, it was just a standard GFI plug, forcing to go out and Buy a separate timer to plug the pump into in order to regulate the number of hours it runs per day VERY Inconvenient!

Short life span
This pump works great but I get the EOL light every year and have to replace it. I only use it about 4 hours a day and from June to Sept. I've had my intex pool for 3 years. I take it down and store the pool and pump during the winter time. I just had to order my 3rd pump. I think this will be my last year.

Purchased end of summer last year. Stored it according to instructions during winter. Set it up 1 week ago for this season. Pump ran first day great. Second day pump failed to come on. Checked with multi-meter,which showed the motor motor is bad! Called support,ever could get anyone,only a robot. I will definitely by another brand besides Intex!

Great pool pump
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was given to me free in exchange for a review. This pump works great to include the suction, flow and circulating the pool water well. The suction filter was able to suck up leaves well. It does make a little noise when running. The machine itself is not too noisy though (its more like a humming sound) when suctioning out debris. I definitely prefer this one over the old one
