My kids complained about this leaking in their backpack and spurting out water when they'd open up the lid. Sometimes it seemed to help if you'd make sure the parts are pressed firmly in place on the underside of the lid before putting the lid on, but even when I thought I would do that, the kids would still comment and dread opening their water bottles at school for fear of a leak. It made them want to use other bottles. They are very cute, good size, keep cool especially if adding ice, but the leaking problem has me searching for another option for next year.

My 7 year old loves this water bottle. It keeps water cold, has a hidden handle, and locking lid to prevent spills…unfortunately, after dropping it once (within 5 weeks of using) the lid cracked and now doesn’t close/lock. I will not be buying a replacement and am now on the hunt for a more kid-proof option.

My child, 2.5 years, threw their bottle off the playground (4 feet high) and broke the cap. It no longer clasps. If your child likes to throw things, this is not the bottle for you.

As others mentioned, the lid that keeps it closed breaks if used frequently. We had two break within a month of regular use. Will leak horribly without the lid shut. Disappointing because the actual cup seems to be great quality unlike the lid.

This is the perfect toddler size and shape. The lid design is awful though. We’ve been through 3 of them in 6 months, all broken. Ello initially was going to replace the first broken one but never did. Probably not buying a fourth.

Second time purchasing these. I got one for my oldest kid about 2 years ago and the lid broke so I stopped using it for months. I didn’t want to throw the cup away because it was so sturdy. One day I decided to see if I could just replace the lid and I was able to request one for free from the ello website. A few days ago I purchased a different color for my other kid and they love them. Hope ello can continue to replace lids if they get moldy like the other reviews have shown.

Loved this water bottle for the first month but then the cap stopped closing. This makes it very difficult to carry from the top loop. Another family member bought one as well and the same thing has occurred with hers.

Has mold smh. Mold is in the bottle itself, straw and the rubber sip part. Lasted a couple of months but now need to replace.

It’s cute, but didn’t last a day. On the first day of school my tripped and her bottle fell and the lid broke and it wouldn’t close. Turns out they don’t sell lid replacements either.

My daughter picked it out for school because she liked the color. Only started using it about a month ago, and the locking lid no longer works properly. It doesn't pop open anymore with a push of a button, instead it stays stuck closed and you need two hands to press the button while prying it open. I gave it 2 stars because it is a pretty bottle, it's not hard to suck water out, and I found it easy enough to clean.

This item was great at first, but we're not even into a full year and it has started leaking. Water pours out from the lid when she tries to drink out of it and I cannot for the life of me figure out why. Everything seems to be in it's place and the lid is on nice and tight. Wish this would've lasted longer as it was really great while it was working.
