Women's Denim Seamed Mini Dress - kate spade new york x Target Dark Blue

The denim is heavy weight...the dress sat longer in back because of the weight pulling it down, probably because it was a little big. As a usual 16, I tried the 17, it measured 44" at the bust and 42" at the waist. I was able to pull it over my head without unzipping it...just a little too big to make it the flattering style that was intended. The denim plus pieces are not running small. Waiting to try the 16.

I saw this dress and loved it immediately! Unfortunately, my usual size 4 was way too small. I ended up getting an 8 which actually fit perfectly. This runs 2 sizes too small. I've noticed a lot of the dresses and clothing in this limited edition launch are inconsistent. I got two dresses of size 8 and one was way tighter and I couldn't really zip it up while the other was perfect. I also did notice the strap of the right side is slightly thinner than the left and is a little bit longer (unless my shoulders are that lopsided!?). But either way, it's not enough for me to want to return it as it fits perfectly and is such a great spring/fall dress. Can't wait to wear it out!

This dress was not flattering on me. The pockets hit right at the waist and made my hips look bigger than they are. Also did not like the zipper on the side. I ended up returning it.

This dress have an amazing quality and great pockets. However it does fit small. I can ziper up this dress without a problem but my breast feels smooch it with a bra. It fits better without a bra or nipple covers. For reference, usually I am size 2 or 4 in Target brands and collabs. I bought 4. I will keep it bc 6 is sold out but I would recommend sizing up one or 2 if you are anything over a B cup.

So the other reviewer who mentioned zipping up and then sliding in is correct. This dress is a little tight. But maybe only a half size off IMHO. You need to put it on, turn it sideways, zip and then turn it back and voila! It fits like a glove. When I tried it on in the store I was like no way this dress is going to zip up. But then I got a size bigger and it was way to big. So re-ordered the smaller one and figured this out. Hope it helps. The denim material is heavy with a good quality feel. The skirt flares out in a very figure flattering way. Looks basic but that flare makes it really unique and flattering.

Runs small on some parts! I couldn’t zip it up. But it is a lovely dress, just sizing is off! So size up!

It’s possible the plus size and straight size patterns are different enough that it affects sizing but the 17 fit me and it’s not tight at all. I can wear 18 in some things so I was worried this wouldn’t fit but I even have a touch of room. I kind of want to try the 16 (been sold out since like 2:10 am CST on launch day lol)to see how much smaller it is and what the pattern difference is between straight and plus- being on the border I am always curious about the pattern changes I find it interesting. Anyway- this dress is cute. I took off a star because I agree with some the skirt part could have been made to lay cuter in the front- but I am going to press it and make it work. I think if I were thinner like I used to be I may have returned it like some other reviewers because you have so many more options when you are straight sized- but right now I actually feel good in this dress and my options aren’t as big for things that are cute and not tents or empire waist. I was really happy with the fact that KS actually made this line so inclusive- going all the way to a 30- giving plus size women the chance to wear something cute is great and makes me like them more =D I agree with some people that it running small could be due to whatever brands you usually buy from. I also wouldn’t say this has zero stretch. It has a little give but it just isn’t stretch denim people are used to at this point- but if they used that it would lose its structure at the top of the dress which is lovely. Overall, I think this is a solid piece- it’s one of the cutest denim dresses I have seen. I wander if they went more a line than fit and flare if it would sit better but I like it and like I said pressing it should help people- one of the pleats was smooshed from shipping so that could also be why some people are experiencing it looking a little wonky at first. Overall- this is a great piece and does look more elevated than other target pieces and is more on brand with KS than some of the other collab pieces. The black ruffle dress is also very elevated with the fabric and the eyelet two piece skirt and tank look great too if people are looking for things on a restock. The floral sweater and strawberry sweater hoodie are also great.

This dress was everything I wanted it to be! So cute, well made, has pockets and was the perfect length. Unfortunately, the sizing was way off I would have needed to up size 2 just for it to fit me. The average person should up size and anyone with a larger chest will need to go up 2 sizes. I am super disappointed as this dress was limited release and I can't order another one.

It’s so cute but the sizing is very off. Size 4 I can’t zip past the chest area and the Size 6 was way too wide.

I’m in love with the cut and quality of this dress! It has plenty of length for me at 5’7”, and the skater style is so flattering. I have a slim and straight built and typically wear a 2 or 4 in dresses, and the 2 fits like a glove. I also ordered the 4 to try on and the zipper was broken when it arrived, so be careful when zipping up.

For those confused about sizing from the reviews, whether you find this “true to size” or not will depend on what brands you’re comparing to (we all know women’s sizing is so inconsistent)! For reference, I’m 5’3”, 95lbs, 32-22-32. I typically wear the whatever the smallest size is and will need to have it taken in, but more expensive brands tend to run smaller overall and some I don’t need to tailor. I often find Target’s 00s too large, and this fit me pretty well right off the hanger. Kate Spade main line 00s usually aren’t a bad fit for me, either. So if you buy the size you usually wear in Target or brands with similar sizing, this will be too small, but if you know your size in Kate Spade or other similar brands, go with that & you’ll be fine. Otherwise, it’s a cute dress with a flattering structure and fabric that’s a good weight - not too thick or heavy but not flimsy.

This dress runs a size small, so keep that in mind when ordering. I am a size 6/small in all Kate Spade clothing, and I could not zip this up. Luckily, it came back in stock in the 8 and that one fits wonderfully.

Fit and quality are amazing. But must size up 1 size, 2 if you have DD or up. I usually wear a size 4 or Small in clothes, Medium in Zara nonstretch items (27 waist, 34 DDD). I hadnto size up to a 8 in this! Size 4 fit my waist but not my chest. The fit and quality in this piece is fantastic. I agree that the skirt is pretty full, but I like that look. With the tight/cinched upper body and flared bottom, gives you a great shape.

Got tons of compliments on this dress and for me it’s a definite yes! I think the trick is to find the right size and be ready to sacrifice your comfort a little bit. My only complaint is that the seams don’t match exactly but I’ll live with it for this amazing price point!

Runs VERY small. Couldn't even zip up the side zipper but yet there was too MUCH material in the skirt part. I'm a 6 / 8 .. I bought an 8 and probably could have worn a 12! The bottom skirt piece is hideous. Too much material.

The dress is well made and has pockets. However the denim has no stretch and the way the bust is constructed means there's is no room for the bust. The dress is made of vertical panels of denim and no extra room in the chest was allowed. Would look great on figures who measure similar through the waist and bust.

This dress stinks, it just smells awful 😖 it also runs very small. I sized up because of the reviews but I would need to go up a couple more sizes to zip the waist and then it would be too large across the top. I'm very disappointed in this dress, it's the first peice in the Kate Spade drop I've purchased, it may be the last!

Size runs likely 2 sizes too small (I wear a 6 normally and 8 still does not fit) and agree with others no stretch so if not a much larger size then not able to zip. I like the length but afraid may be too much fabric overall (i.e look like a boat) if size up another size. No other sizes to try on since sold out
