We purchased this because we have a tropical theme to our living room. We originally bought a "sandstone" lamp from Lamps Plus about 12 years ago and love that one. However they don't make sandstone anymore so the only one we could find that resembled it was this lamp. It is porcelain though. I only wish it had a lt. beige shade instead of the white. Otherwise we love the lamp and the night light. Our other lamp has a night light too.
