Low quality and poorly made returned item being sold as new
Do not buy. I received an obviously returned item and had a terrible time trying to return it. I tried to start the yarn, but found a large part of it had already been used. It was crinkled up as though someone had tried crocheting with it and then frogged all their work. I saw why immediately the yarn was a very low quality and was shredded. You could see the center white core exposed because the outer colored portion had completely disintegrated and was just a mass of fluffy shredded strands. There were multiple knots as well. It was completely unusable. I don't drive due to a disability, but a family member took me to a doctors appointment and we were near a target store. Before sending them into the store with my return, I saw on the target app that you could submit it and have associate come to the car to get your return so I attempted to do that and was informed by the target app that this item was not sold by them. It further told me that the item was not eligible for a return to target, and could only be returned to the seller. It directed me to the fix an issue tab. After answering the questions in that section, I was told that the item would not need to be returned and that a refund was on its way. The screen said "there is nothing more for you to do". Little did I know that I should have taken a screenshot. As soon as I closed the screen, the app took me to another page which told me to print a mailing label and that I would need to get a cardboard box and take the item all packed to a shipping location, such as UPS what a pain. So I tried several times to contact help through Target and was only sent in a circle to a list of help topics which did not answer my question and gave me no way to speak to a human. I had no problem with returning the item. That wasn't the issue. It was that I was turned away from the store when trying to return it in the first place then I was told that I had to not only find a box and packing tape so that the item could be packed up for return shipment, but I also had to get transportation to UPS to return that item. This should not be the case. If target sells something on their website, then they should stand behind it and accept the items for return. Instead, they are selling used, low quality items and making the customer jump through hoops to return them and recoup their purchase price. I was finally able to navigate the website enough to chat with a human tonight. They pretty much disregarded everything I said and just kept repeating that they would email me a return receipt so that I could return the item at a target store. The whole thing was just a pain in the rear and really sours me on shopping online with Target. When I am limited in my ability to shop in stores without help, avoiding online shopping doesn't leave me with much, does it? I purchased the Target 360 app because shopping online with W*****t+ and using their delivery service has been a lousy experience as well. I really thought target would be better, but this purchase (and Target customer service's non-caring handling of the issue) has shown me that these big stores are all the same. Be careful when shopping on line!! Just be very careful to check that each item you are buying is actually sold and shipped by target themselves. If it is a third-party seller, just know that you are taking your chances and if the item is garbage, returning it could be difficult if not impossible.
