XL chunks are the best
I’ve honestly not used many different brands, but these have a great smoke flavor - not to strong or bitter - and are easy to start, burn very consistently, and don’t leave a bunch of ash to clean out of the hopper. They are my Go To lump coal

Best Burn Yet!
Great product. The Argentinian wood burns very even and for a long time. You get multiple burns from much of the same charcoal unlike most lump charcoal that makes an ash out of itself after just one time.

Great Product
Big Block XL Lump Charcoal has become my go-to fuel because it hits the sweet spot of value and performance. The first thing you notice is the chunk size—it’s loaded with big pieces instead of a bag of crumbs, which makes it easier to stack, lights consistently, and keeps airflow strong in the firebox. Where it really wins is burn time. It runs hot and steady for a long time, which is perfect for overnight cooks and long low-and-slow sessions without constantly topping off. Even on higher-temp cooks, it holds heat well and recovers quickly after opening the lid. For the price, you get a bag that lasts and performs like premium lump should: big chunks, long burns, and solid value. If you want fewer reloads and more consistent cooks, Big Block XL is an easy recommendation.

The best lumps I've found
I can't find this too often here in KY but when I do I stock up. It lights fast, burns well with no sparking at all. After shutting it down after cooking there still a decent supply to reuse. I'll keep using it whenever I can get it.

Good charcoal
Bought this when I needed charcoal for my new classic Joe. This was available and I knew it would work well. Not disappointed with the performance at all. It did have large amount of small pieces and but carries a premium price, that’s why I gave it 4 stars vs 5. Will I buy it again, probably. But, maybe not use it exclusively.

Nothing comes close!
I have tried so many different charcoals over the years. I stumbled on Kamado charcoal just by chance. I was not expecting what it was going to make my chicken taste like. Its like going to a great Chinese place and the fried rice has that insane smoky flavor from how hot the wok gets. There isn't even a word that lets me express it correctly. Real charcoal flavor like if Paul Bunyan grilled it.

Great quality Charcoal, while its a bit pricey, the taste of the food makes it well-worth it.

Best charcoal
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had my joe classic for about 6 months. I have used big box stores charcoal. I bought a1/2 pallet of this charcoal and have to learn my joe all over. It gets hot faster, stays hot longer and you use less charcoal. Over all it's cheaper than a big box store.

Solid band of lump charcoal
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The brand I use whenever I can find it. It's not easy to find around here but when I do find it I stock up. Consistently, it's mostly larger chunks throughout

My family’s favorite lump for flavor
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Big Block lump coal has definitely provided the cleanest, best tasting and smelling lump charcoal (we have tried plenty). It has has the largest chunks for longer cooks, on a consistent basis. I tend to save the largest chunks for when I am, in fact, doing a long smoking session @ lower temperatures. It’s definitely not the cheapest (reason I’ve tried several others), but definitely a family pleaser and therefore the regular lump coal in my Kamado Joe!
