Stopped working
The machine is dead and wont turn on. HP service is slow and difficult to work with. I would not recommend this laptop at all.

Exactly what I expected from Hp :)
My last laptop was an Omen, but needed upgrading, so upgraded to this one. Absolutely love it, it’s a great laptop and great for my gaming, which is mainly what I bought it for, as well as work and personal stuff too. Had my last one for 10 years with no issues, and hoping this is the same.

Hardware is excellent, software is bloated.
Build quality seems great. Performs well. However too much HP bloatware that you can’t seem to get rid of. A lot of ads built in that appear every time you turn it on.

As advertised
This is as advertised. I play Wuwa at max settings and this thing doesn't even get phased. I crashed once but I think it may have been the new nvidia drivers. The one thing I wish was better (this is prolly only applicable to my setup) is that when I disable the laptop screen to just use my monitor, the laptop builtin monitor will still have back light. Every time I boot up I have to re-disable the builtin monitor to make the laptop screen complete dark. A minor issue but that's the only thing I came across that qualifies as an issue.

OMEN MAX AI dev. laptop/mobile workstation.
I was very happy with my purchase of the HP OMEN MAX. The price was right for my budget, and I was not disappointed by its performance... It handled demanding local AI and LLM workloads. The RTX 5080 GPU and Ryzen AI 9 processor appear to be a great combination. The machine is a powerful, stable, and well-designed laptop that feels more like a mobile workstation than a typical gaming system.

Software concerns
Once a day or sometimes a couple days this laptop just shuts down suddenly showing some windows error. This is really frustrating and is happening from the day 1 I bought this. Very disappointed.

Disappointing Lack of Disclosure on Variant Differences
Very disappointed with the lack of transparency regarding a whole plethora of missing features that are implied to be available but shown to be only available on the Intel version. I am bothered by the fact that fan cleaning only exists on the Intel model, and that Nvidia Advanced Optimus does not exist as a feature on this model. I am also disappointed with the AMD variant of the Omen Max 16 not having the option to upgrade to an OLED panel through customization. I am not sure what else has been different but it almost feels like I have been sold a different product compared to what the page and almost every reviewer online has suggested about the laptop. Aside from glaring misrepresentation, the laptop also tends to run hot and the keys are honestly a bit squishy. I give a fairly dishonorable mention on the awkward spacebar which tilts down when pushed from the bottom half of the spacebar. It really makes the spacebar feel substantially worse than the other keys.

Built tough and packed with tech
I was searching for a laptop that was well built, had upgrade options and could deliver the power when needed. I think I found the best value for money laptop that answers to my needs. I wanted to also future proof my tech, or at least stay within that 7yr period without needing to upgrade again. I got the AMD AI9 with the RTX 5080, wifi7, gen5 ssd slot and more. Turns out the 5080 AMD comes with a lightbar.... nice

Excellent Graphics Performance
I’m not a gamer but I bought this for the purpose of 3D scanning as it had a high spec GPU. So far it works with plenty of headroom remaining. My only recommendation is that it should be offered with RAM upgrade options at purchase as I could do with 64Gig and will probably purchase this separately.

Omen MAX 16 month review
I've now been using my Omen MAX for over a month now, I am very impressed with how it has been performing. Temps are sitting around 75-77°C while playing games at high-ultra settings for moderately long play sessions (2-3 hours) using a relatively cheap laptop cooling pad. As I have been playing while plugged in, battery hasn't been an issue but I have been enjoying the smart charging so it sits at 80% max to maximise battery health.

Event viewer error code 1796
I ser the machine up last week and immediately have error 1796 in event viewer TPM-WMI issue that seems to have a secure boot issue which causes my pin to have an error and makes me reset pin in micrisoft account. I have spent hours trying to fix it. Still does it randomly. Less though since updating bios and firmware and clearing the module. It is hard to write a good review for a high end expensive computer that has this kind of malfunction straight up. A fix for this issue would be appreciated and then I could write a favourable review. I have attached a picture of the event viewer error that us causing the pin to have to be reset

Very powerful. But uninstalling HP Omen software bricked it.
Runs any new games I can throw at it at 60+ FPS. In some cases runs a little faster than my 2021 PC with an RTX 3070 and i5-11600. But attempting to remove HP/Omen bloatware and install newer drivers messed up audio outputs and volume options, then eventually bricked it. Was able to fully reset to factory from the BIOS. Works fine but now I'm afraid to uninstall anything on it from HP.
