Q: What's the difference between the liquid and the powder of the Bar Keeper's Cleanser? Is one more user friendly than the other?

submitted by LaVie - 2 years ago
  • A: They are the same product; with the exception the Bar Keepers Friend Powder Cleanser doesn’t come water added. Some people like to use the Bar Keepers Friend Liquid Cleanser, that way they don’t guess on how much water to add. With the Bar Keepers Friend Powder Cleanser, you can make it more abrasive with the less water you add.

Q: Does barkeeper's friend contain ammonia?

submitted by islandgirl - 8 years ago
  • A: Even though there is no list of ingredients on the label, one can infer that the product DOES NOT contain ammonia. Here is the except from the label: "Contains Oxalic Acid... Do not mix with other chemicals. such as bleach or ammonia".

  • A: I got this information directly from a google search on barkeeper's friend which was very easy & simple to do. When in doubt, google it. Active ingredients. According to the 2015 material safety data sheet, the ingredients are feldspar, linear sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate (DDBSA), and oxalic acid. Unlike more abrasive cleaning powders such as Comet and Ajax, Bar Keepers Friend uses oxalic acid as its primary active ingredient.
