WAY TOO SPICY

What in the world happened? This used to be my favorite go to meal. I bought two last week and literally my mouth was on fire. I thought it was just a fluke so I tried the second one today and this is way too spicy. I don’t know what happened, but I will definitely never buy this again.

Too spicy for me

This item was TOO spicy for me. I'd rather the meal had less spice so customer can add it. I will not buy this item again. I am concerned about the amount of 1-time-use plastic as compared to the food. This happens with frozen meals, but this meal has an extra plastic container for the steaming feature.

Please return to the previous less spicy recipe!

Like some of the other reviews, I am pretty sure the recipe has changed recently (early 2026). A few years ago I used to eat it often, then it got too spicy, then it went back to a reasonable level for a year or two (and I am someone who eats fairly spicy food in general), but recently the heat level went up quite a lot, and I decided not to get it anymore. But I tried it again today thinking maybe that was an unusual bowl I had last time, but it is still too spicy, so I won't get it again.

Recipe Changed, Way Too Spicy

I used to love this bowl but the recipe changed. It's WAY TOO SPICY. Pease give us the option to not cook with the peppers or please revert back to the original recipe. I'm very disappointed us consumers never received a warning on the package that the recipe changed so drastically.

TOO HOT

Thought I'd had unwrapped burrito bowl before but the one I had tonight was way too hot. I did not pay attention to the Spice level when bought. But to me this would be a 5 pepper. OMG! Won't have this again.

How I zhuzh up my bowl…

I take these to work, and when I want a little extra protein, I’ll cook a bag of Beyond Meat Beyond Steak Plant Based Seared Tips ahead of time and store it in a container. After microwaving the burrito bowl, I add some of the Beyond Steak and pop it back in the microwave for about 30 seconds just to warm everything through. Once it’s all combined, that’s it — a quick, filling, and really satisfying meal. Perfect for busy workdays.

Inconsistent spice level

Did the recipe change? I’ve been eating this a few times a week for over a year and it’s always had a nice if mild flavor. The last two packages were so spicy as to be nearly inedible. I ate them so as not to waste food but probably won’t risk it again it’s disappointing as this has been a regular go to lunch for me.

Spicy like crazy! It’s just beans and rice so the spice level is WAY too overpowering, you could cook minute rice and toss in a couple beans, this is too hot and I love heat.
