Q: Does it matter where the “vent” portion is placed?

A: Here is how to properly load the Balance + Nipple:
1. Prior to feeding, pinch the vent between two fingers to ensure proper venting. The nipple is 100% silicone, which means the vent can self seal over time.
2. This nipple is designed to be inserted through the top of the cap ring- do not pull up through the bottom.
3. Flip the nipple and cap ring upside down. Ensure the nipple base is lying flat against the underside of the cap ring to prevent leaking.
4. Screw cap ring onto the bottle but be sure NOT to overtighten, as this can lead to flow and leaking issues.

Really wanted to love this bottle for my newborn. Easy to latch onto bottle but my baby gasps up and spits up milk as she is trying to drink multiple times. Also lid is extremely tedious to screw correctly.

Hi Jenn, sometimes the initial flow of the bottle can be overwhelming to a baby. Please try letting your baby latch onto the bottle with the nipple empty of milk. Once Baby starts sucking, tip the bottle so milk can flow. This should make a big difference. Best bottles we've tried!
We tried so many bottle brands… Tommee Tippee, Mam, Dr. Brown’s, etc. but none of them performed nearly as well as these. They’re easy to wash and have held up great in our Brezza sterilizer/dryer. So many lactation consultants recommend these for a reason. They’re great and didn’t cause my son to develop a bottle preference or weaken his latch when I nursed him. Not it bottles
Real person, real review here. This bottle is not it. Yeah the nipples are *cool* but the whole bottle config is crap. It actually doesn’t fit my Spectra flange so here I am holding it together for each pump. My actual rage when half my just pumped, just enough bottle leaks out halfway and its 3am with an unsatisfied newborn. This happens all the time and its extremely frustrating as an exclusive pumper. I am throwing these bottles away today and sticking with my Dr. Browns. At least those are always in stock in glass when I need them.

Hate these bottles
Go with a different bottle brand. You can have it screwed on just fine and give it to your baby and it just leaks everywhere! There is also a pocket in the nipple that collects debris and is next to impossible to clean unless you use a Qtip

Not the best.
The numbers to measure the amount of liquid rubbed off within a month. You have to make sure that you get the lid perfectly screwed in right, otherwise you will be crying over spilled milk. I have to rescrew the top multiple times and tip it over a little bit to make sure my baby is not going to completely drenched in milk. These are the bottles we have used for 3.5 months now. Only because these were the only ones that she would take when she was nursing and bottle feeding. Now that she is exclusively bottle fed, I have finally switched her to a different bottle. Thank goodness, because I’m not sure how much milk I am pouring in there anymore.

Great for combo fed babies
Our baby primarily nurses but we wanted to incorporate occasional bottle feeding to allow dad to be apart of feedings, to give us some flexibility, and for when I go back to work. Evenflow bottles
These bottle are okay I only got them cause we left out of town and only had one bottle on us so I got the evenflo balence + wise cause it kinda mimicked her bobo bottle. I did like this bottle for my daughter until I realized the nipple gets like flat when she drinks and has to take out the bottle to let the nipple get air I don’t know how to explain it or maybe I’m not placing the nipple onto the cap right but My daughter does like the bottle that is the only problem we have with it. I do recommend for a baby that knows how to hold and take out bottle from mouth cause they understand but it must get very annoying for them as well.

Nipple is perfect to use with glass avent bottles
