Woodford with a bit more spice
Great representation of a rye whiskey, good strength but not overpowering. Wonderful in cocktails like Manhattans or Boulevardie, very enjoyable on the rocks.

Smooth tasting
Not a big ride drinker, but I’ve had a couple different brands and this is probably one of the smoothies type of rye you could have. It’s gray over the rocks. It’s great straight, compliments a lot of good foods.

Smooth, subtle Bourbon
This Woodford Reserve Rye is a smooth and subtle Rye. Being 90 proof it is not as harsh on the palate with hints of honey, vanilla and apples. It’s a mild version of a rye; I would choose it in a cocktail not straight. Maybe an old fashioned and leave the straight sip for a barrel proof. But it is an averagely good Rye for it’s price.

I will say that while Rye is not my typical go-to.. Woodford Reserve is always a great choice. I typically purchase whiskey/bourbon that isn't considered Rye.... I like everything I have tried from Woodford Reserve thus far.

Woodford Reserve Double Oaked has been my go to bourbon for a while now. If you know me, you know I love my caramel and butterscotch notes, which this has plenty of. However, the bottles I’ve had lately haven’t been as consistent as I would like. First 2 bottles I had were strong with those flavors, but since then, the caramel notes aren’t as prevalent. The bottle is empty, so obviously the inconsistency hasn’t kept me from sipping. If I could give it 4-1/2 stars, I would. Still one of my favorites. I love this brand of whiskey for when I’m feeling a little fancier than usual Jack Daniels. The flavor is great and goes down smoothly. Sometimes I even feel a bit guilty when I mix it with ginger ale.
