Dark Teal is darker than the dark teal of 2 yrs ago
If you’re buying as a stand alone piece, this is a pretty good storage ottoman. It easily holds all our kids games, and the hydraulic lift/hinge is great. We have two issues. One is that, like another reviewer stated, after about a year, one of the small tufts came out. That’s not a huge issue for us, as I’m okay if they all eventually come out. The bigger issue is that I just ordered the Christopher Knight Missoni storage bench in dark teal and they are significantly different in color. This ottoman is a much lighter, more muted color - even on the inside top rim that doesn’t see sun. So if you’re trying to match dark teals, you’ll be disappointed.

Teal ottoman
We have had this ottoman for a year. After about 3 months I noticed the fabric is balling up. As you can tell by my pictures, 1 of the tufts has pulled out. So now it just looks awkward. I always have to put something over the pulled tuft, it drives me nuts. The hinges are ok, but they have always creaked when opening. There is plenty of storage in it, that's the only reason I'm giving this 2 stars. Just a really bad material to put on a ottoman, where you would put your feet up. I highly doubt this will last another year.

Not for every living room
Overall good look and size for me, while it could be said it’s an odd color for most living rooms and it’s size isn’t perfect. Closure storage is a cool concept and seems well made with the arms to hold it open. 6+ months and the fabric is pilling which is a disappointment. Very firm feel to sit on. Vacuums ok from dog hair and we enjoy having a place to put our feet up or sit to put on shoes. No assembly. Open box, pull out, recycle box.

The good and the bad.
If I could give this 3.5 stars I would. Pros: I love the color. I love the overall size (the interior is cavernous!). It’s perfect for my sectional couch, everyone can put their feet up and it was very cost effective. The hinges are smooth and it’s easy to open and close. Now to the cons. The worst one is the fabric is like Velcro. EVERYTHING sticks. seriously any crumb, lint, hair, has to be vacuumed off. Nothing brushes off. It’s sooo annoying with kids. One of my kids was eating crackers and I had to haul out the big vacuum because the hand held wouldn’t get the crumbs off. Next it’s too tall. I have a tall couch and am tall but find the ottoman to be a bit high. I’m considering taking the legs off.

I really wanted to love this...but the color teal is just off. It's a dark teal color. Closer to a dark green. It didn't even look right against my cream colored couch. The size is also HUGE. Be aware when purchasing this. It's closer to the size of a coffee table than an ottoman. Unfortunately I returned it in the end.
