Melissa & Doug Cutting Food Play Food Set With Wooden Pieces, Knife, Cutting Board

We have the fruit version of this toy which is decorating to look like the inside of the fruit. This version does not.. so it’s a little hard to tell what the fruit is supposed to be.. Seems to be manufactured a little lazier than the fruits IMO.

my toddler (and his friends) love this toy! they are great quality and stick together very well.. almost too well. its a little hard to break the fruit apart but I think that is a good sign that it will last a long time so we don't mind. this would make a great christmas gift

The M&D brand is, undoubtedly, one of thee best brands! I was excited for my child to unwrap this and go to town! Initially, the set is BEAUTIFUL!! Very realistic looking and substantial. With that being said, there were a few (surprising) drawbacks...the included wooden knife's blade is too thick to wedge between the slices. We had to use a plastic butter knife to simulate the cutting process and division of the food. Also, there were a few paint chips. To be fair, I'm not sure if this was a result of trying to "slice" the food with the included, girthy knife or if it had been dropped/damaged or if it came that way. Either way, the majority of my child's toys are M&D and the paint has never chipped or worn quite like this. I'm hoping this is a fluke since her M&D toys have withstood the test of time and clumsy lil hands.

Our set came with dents and paint that’s transferred. If you’re looking for something that will last you multiple kids or for years to come, this is not the one.

My children 5 and 6 have always been so fascinated with the sliced fruit and veggie toys. They’re at the ages now where pretend play is in full force! I grabbed this one for a Christmas gift and I’m so impressed with the size of the toy. The weight of it tells me this is going to last for a great amount of time. I also really love that it comes with a wooden bin included. That’s really an awesome plus to this toy. Now these things will have a place after they use it each time.

Quality is ok. Foods have so little detail that it’s hard to tell what they are (is it a carrot or a hot dog? Carrot, right? But it really looks like a hot dog…). Good enough for us for now, but if I were buying a cutting set again, I’d try a different one.

My daughter loves playing with this set! Anyone kids who come over also enjoy playing with it. It's a great toy to teach little ones to cut and slice but also to put the items together.

Not consistent w the photos. The photos in the item description say 5 pcs baguette, 3 pc sliced bread, 4 pcs watermelon. However, in the package we received there was only 4 pcs baguette, 2 pcs sliced bread, and 3 pcs watermelon. There is also no handle on the cutting board as the picture shows. Everything else is accurate. The crate our product came in also was broken on one side, but not too badly. Overall, I love this toy. My toddler and I have been playing with it for the past two days without tiring. Even my 13 year old brother has had fun playing along. I definitely recommend this toy. I just wish target would ship it more carefully and update the listing to account for product changes

This was a great buy! I would definitely buy again and wish I purchased sooner. My 4 year old and 2 year old love it and have grabbed for it everyday since I purchased. Super cute, and great quality.

My daughter loves being able to play cut the food. The carrot is very difficult to separate & the wood knife can be hard to use on the food.

Love Melissa and Doug toys. This one is fun and is being used with a grocery store and kitchen. The knife could be a little less thick for easy of cutting. I bought a bunch of food toys at once and we have been playing every day (grandson and I) - either restaurant, grocery store or take out - drive thru. Love the variety. Good purchase

One of my three year olds favorite toys! It keeps her interested and she loves “cutting” up food for us.
