Holds water, not good for outside at all. We bought this for our patio that is mostly covered. It was great in the summer when we had no rain, but even just a little rain made it a disaster. It holds the water and is just soggy and then gets really dirty easily. We rolled it up and put it in the shed but it's so big and wet we weren't able to move it to a place we can dry it. It's been a headache. If you are purchasing for indoors or a fully enclosed porch or garage it would be great, just as long as it's not in any rain.
