Really happy with this whetstone. My previous stone needed soaking, which was always a pain, and inconvenient. This stone can be used right away and just requires a few drops of H20. Comes with 250 and 1000 grid stones. Perfect for sharpening and smoothing. Enclosed case collects water, and keeps your work space nice and clean. My knives are nice and sharp again. No longer have to pay to have them taken care of. This whetstone achieves professional results and is simple to use.

This is a great 2 in 1 set. The synthetic material is great and quick to use......no presoaking required. I like this so i dont have to plan to sharpen, I can do so as necessary. The two sides are great coarse to start and the fine to finish. It brings my knives back to their razor sharp edge with ease.

I have recently really gotten into sharpening my own knives by using a water stone and this stone is a great entry into practicing. It did take me a little time and practice to figure out how to use this, but my patience is rewarded with the sharpest knives I've ever had.

Great for maintaining any knife. Nice compact size travels with me wherever and whenever I take my knife bag on the road. The two grits are all I need and I can make sure my knives are always at their best. Western or Japanese, you control the angle.

If you want to try to sharpen your knives the right way then invest in a water stone like this and learn the skill. This stone has a non slip base so it stays firmly put. Some stones need to be soaked prior to use so you need to plan ahead but this one does not...just put a few drops of water and you're ready to go. The coarse grit is for taking away steel and reshaping the blade and the fine side is to get that smooth razor sharp edge.

A whetstone is the traditional way to sharpen your knives. It takes a little practice and there is a video on this website that's very helpful. I'm not extremely proficient yet, but I find it very soothing. This is such a great whetstone because unlike most stones, it does not have to be soaked in water for 30 minutes prior to use. I keep a cup of water next to it and simply sprinkle the stone. Your old fashioned stones required oil instead of water. Although this is not recommended, it can be used. Just keep in mind that once you use oil, you are committed to oil for the life of the stone. The case has rubber "feet" which hold the stone in place and keep it from sliding. The 1000 grit is perfect for your everyday maintenance, much like a honing steel. The 250 grit is for when your knives have become extremely dull or chipped. It removes metal and lets you reshape the blade.

This water stone is easy to use - a few drops of water to sharpen those knives that get most of the use. Course or fine, either will sharpen those edges, depending on how dull they have become. Keep it handy to use, before the knives no longer cut well.

This sharpening stone is really easy to learn how to use. Compact for easy storage and uses water for less mess. I put water into the tray to keep the opposite side of the stone wet while I'm using the heavier grit. Your knives will be sharp again and forever with this tool. See Zwilling.com for teaching videos.

What's great about this Twin Pro s combo pack is, it's a grab and go sharpener. It doesn't need to be soak half an hour to use it. Just dip it in water and let it do the job for you for every stroke you do, just keep applying water to it for better result.
