Q: What’s the difference between Asian and standard? How do I know which knives are which?

A: Asian knives have a steeper bevel to the edge than western knives. The Asian side of the sharpener is a 10 degree angle and the other sharpener is a 15 degree angle.

So far so good
So far so good. I used the sharpener today on some old knives that were very dull. The sharpener def helped and I am looking forward to continue using it and working on finally getting my knives sharp again.

Worth it….great sharpener
This sharpener WORKS GREAT. I have German and Japanese knives and it does great on both. I am a home cook but value quality knives and keeping them sharp and well taken care of. I steel while I’m cooking but always sharpen every 3rd or 4th cooking session.

Wedding Gift well received
The anti slip rubber bottom is very convenient. I have used this product just yet as I am not sure to use the Asian or Standard sharpening rods. But I am hoping for the best.
