Description
USA made 6 in. Diamond Whetstone sharpener in fine diamond is a great fit for home or workshop. The DMT 6" Whetstone offers a sharpening surface of 6 in x 2 in. x 3/4 in. to satisfy a variety of edge care needs including kitchen knives, woodworking tools, hunting knives, and much more. The whetstone comes in durable, non-skid rubber feet, making sharpening safe and easy. Easy to use, you can forget those messy oils that are required with other sharpeners; the diamond surface allows you to sharpen dry or with water. DMT employs a proprietary process resulting in a micronized monocrystalline diamond that covers evenly across the stone for a hardwearing surface guaranteed to provide consistent, efficient sharpening for years to come. DMT's signature polka dot pattern provides for slightly recessed holes to collect the metal files removed during sharpening to prevent loading. Enjoy faster sharpening: 5 or 6 strokes per edge versus 30 on a conventional abrasive. This allows you to spend less time sharpening edges and more time using them. Sharpen with fine diamond (25 micron / 600 mesh) for a razor sharp edge.

The rubber feet on the bottom keep it from sliding when using. This sharpening stone is made well and should last for many years to come.

I was constantly worried I was going to cut myself with my blade as I sharpened it. It did get my blade sharp but hated the constant worrying I had using it

If you know someone who is just getting into knife sharpening it is a good stone for beginners. It isn't amazing for anyone who already has a stone of this grit unless you want a nice light weight stone to travel with.

He's been very impressed with the quality it does sharpening his blades. He describes them as been as good as new once he's used this sharpener. This is a sharpener that you need to take your time with: slowly, gently stroking your blade over its length, drawing your blade over and over its entire length and breadth, first one side, then the other, until you can literally split a hair with its sharpness... Goodness. What an awesome evening.

When my blade would start feeling dull a few passes on this stone really brought it back to life.

It comes in a case so it's easy to store and has a nice rubber base so you can sharpen a blade with ease. Because of the design, it's super easy to use and does the job well for knives that have lost their keen sharp edge. If you don't have one or have never sharpened your knives before, definitely check it out, it'll surprise you in what a difference a sharp blade makes when you are cutting veggies or meat in your kitchen.

I got the red one which is fine grit.It's an all purpose sharpening whetstone. I used it on a pocket knife that I use a lot. It was getting pretty dull. The sharpener was easy to use,stayed in place and got my knife really sharp. It's made really well.

It has a real nice base that resists sliding. I have a set of the DMT handheld portable sharpeners, but they don't do the trick like a larger surface that this has. Getcha one!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This fine grit whetstone allows you to have razor sharp edges on virtually any surface. Adding a few water droplets on the stone enables you to get an extremely sharp edge after a few passes. I really enjoy using this product.
