[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This DMT Diamond Steel is made well and has a fine grit. It is perfect for light sharpening and honing knives. There is a protective guard just below the handle for an extra layer of safety. It also has an attached D ring for hanging the rod up when not in use. This will last for years to come!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You ever have a guest come over and totally destroy you knives? I had a knife set I forgot about that were totally mangled. I decided to try and give them another chance. Dug them out of my closet and sharpened them. Are they back to before the horror of horrors happened? No, but they are getting there. I probably will have to take them to a professional to get sharpened but I've seen so many mishaps I would rather try and fix it myself.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the DMT Diamond Steel Sharpener in red, which is the fine grit (25 micron / 600 mesh) – perfect for everyday sharpening and restoring knife edges. The diamond-coated surface seems to work well and brings a nice edge back to my kitchen knives with just a few strokes. The sharpener feels securely fixed in the handle, so I don’t have to worry about it coming loose during use. Overall, it's a sturdy, reliable tool that does what it promises. Great for routine maintenance on most knives.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having a handle to hold with an easy grip really made sharpening my knives and my boyfriend's knives souch easier. I wasn't worried about the knife hitting my fingertips while sharpening the blade. Will definitely be using this tool from now on to do any sharpening I need to do

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for my fiance as a gift. He loves having a honing rod in the kitchen for when we cook. It is coarse enough that you can feel it removing material but not so coarse that you destroy your knives. I recommend learning how to use one to prevent injuring yourself or others whole using this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] No, not your wife. That's just sexist! This bar sharpener needs to stay there permanently,, and should be used on all your straight edge knives with every use. It takes only seconds to hone your blades, and it KEEPS them sharp, and a sharp knife is a good thing to have.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a handy little sharpener. It has a diamond grit making it easier to than other stick-type sharpeners I have used. Comfortable handle with wide hand guard to keep from getting cut. Just a few strokes while working with a knife keeps the edge true and sharp. It has fine diamond surface to get and keep your knives razor sharp. No oil needed to work your blades dry or with just a little water. Well made and will surely last for years. This is a great addition for blade care of my kitchen knife arsenal.
DMT Diamond Steel Honing Sharpener (Fine)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never gotten the hang of using a honing sharpener like you see people use on videos or TV, But I found I was able to hold the sharpener vertically using the rubber cap on the end of it and putting it on the table. I was then able to hone the edge of the knives. I like the diamond coated surface as opposed to ridges on the one I have and don't use. I still have difficulty keeping the knife at the proper angle so my success with honing a knife will take more practice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great for bringing your knifes edge back after it’s starting to feel dull, it’s a much higher grit then a regular steel which is better for the edge of your knife. I will use this anytime something needs sharpened.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoyed this product, it sharpens knives well and is simple to use and is easy to clean. The handle grips well and it has a nice wide guard to keep a knife from potentially hitting your hand. The only downside is that the plastic loop on the end for hanging feels fragile and may not last as a hangjng point long term.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tool will sharpen almost anything that needs sharpening! It is a bit awkward to get the hang of, but it seems to work well on knives and even scissor blades. My next try will be our dull axe (once we figure out where my husband put it!).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Throw away those cheap sharpening steels that you usually get with a kitchen knife set. The diamond steel performance eclipses the performance of a regular steel. Great for keeping your kitchen knives sharp with very little effort.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use sharpening steels weekly because they work. For quick touchups, I prefer steel over diamond or ceramic rods—those need a gentler hand, but steel can still improve an edge even if the technique isn’t perfect. Diamond and ceramic have their place, though. I usually reach for them maybe twice a year, whenever a blade needs serious adjustment. Sharpening in midair might look cool, but I’d rather keep things practical. Pinning the tip to a cutting board gives me better control and consistency. One heads-up: I once dragged the steel across the blade face by accident, and it left a streak of scratches. Not the end of the world, but definitely something to avoid.
