Description
Offering two stage sharpening and a compact design, the Double Sided Diafold Sharpener is as strong as it is versatile. Two different grits are combined on this platform to create a lightweight sharpener that is great for the home, camper, tool box, gardening shed and more. Also featuring a continuous surface that can be used for small or pointed edges, the fine diamond (25 micron / 600 mesh) is specialized for honing any blade or chisel to a razor sharp edge. On the opposite side, the coarse diamond (45 micron / 325 mesh) is specialized for quickly restoring neglected edges. Measuring in at 9 1/2" open, 5" closed, and featuring folding plastic handles protect sharpener when not in use as well, its portability and durability are matched by few. This way, you can sharpen any edge in a fraction of the time required by conventional stones wherever you go. No messy oils are needed either, allowing for dry or water sharpening. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very handy sharpener that I have used on pruning shears, lawn mower blades, hatchets, a few bench chisels, and various other "overly dull" items around the house. Note that this is just the first step in sharpening, and to get a really keen edge, you'll need finer grit stones.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The DMT diafold sharpener is a good sharpener for on the go sharpening for pocket knives. I would not recommend these for kitchen knives due to the length of these sharpeners but for most small to medium sized pocket knives they work very well. I have used them to sharpen a handful knives and the longevity seems to be pretty good.

I did see some fraying on the knife edge after using. I might need better and more practice on how to use it.

It sharpens a variety knives, scissors and tools with blades using either the fine or course grit. The handy QR code on the packaging takes you directly to a YouTube video with easy instructions on how to use the sharpener. The folding handle makes it easy to store and protects the sharpener. I highly recommend making the purchase!

This sharpener has both a fine and coarse grit, for fine and rough work on blades- this is a great option for damaged or particularly dull blades that needs a coarser grit first before refining the edge with the fine grit side.

It also is pretty decent in touching up my regular blades as a steel. It’s compact and sturdy. The handles initially appear lightweight but when locked in position, it feels pretty strong.

Safety is always a key feature and I found this to be very safe to use. The handle was very secure and easy to grasp And the folding option for storage was extremely helpful. I also fault the length of the sharpening stones was perfect.

The only drawback I see is the handle itself. The plastic handle is flimsy and probable won't last long in the field. Otherwise a great little sharpener.
