Anything that you can’t fit in traditional sharpeners was perfect for this one. Of course ai also used it on my kitchen knives also, I didn’t have that many that needed sharpening but there is always one that got just a bit dull.

Either you use the opposite hand or you estimate the degree. Used on outdoor shears, like a file and it worked.

This allows you to sharpen both 20 and 22 degree knives with ease whether you are in the kitchen or you are out in the field. This one is going in my knife box so it is ready to go when we catch fish or when we are in the field hunting. Keeping knives sharp is incredibly important and this tool allows me to have two different grits and ease of use.

It has one side of fine and the other course diamond sharpening surfaces. It has integrated sharpening angles of 20 and 28 degrees. The built-in bottle opener also serves as a hanging point. The handle fits the hand well for a non-slip grip. The Double-Flip is a great sharpener for a great price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This DMT double flip sharpener is a great sharpening tool. The instruction video is amazing. I tried cutting a piece of newspaper with my knife. It didn’t want to slice. I sharpened it with the sharpener and when I slice the newspaper, it sliced nicely. Doesn’t take too much time to sharpened the knife. No excessive metal shavings to clean up. The bottle opener is a good bonus.

I like the cover that keeps it from scratching other items in your tool box or wherever you decide to store it. It has a bottle opener on the end as well. This would be great to take on a camping trip.

I first tested the blue, coarse side (325 grit) on an older machete with significant gouges. After about 15 minutes of sharpening, it did achieve a noticeable improvement, providing a decent working edge. However, for deeply damaged blades like this machete, I'd recommend starting with an even coarser grit diamond stone or file before using the DoubleFlip to fully restore the edge. The red, fine side (600 grit) truly shines for maintaining the sharpness of my game processing knives. A few quick swipes are all it takes to bring back a razor-sharp edge, making slicing meat for the dehydrator a breeze. This fine grit is excellent for regular touch-ups and keeping frequently used blades in top condition. While the DoubleFlip includes a bottle opener, I found an alternative use for that end: it conveniently allows me to hang the sharpener on my workbench when not in use, keeping it readily accessible and off the cluttered surface. Overall, the DMT DoubleFlip is a valuable hand tool, especially for quick sharpening tasks and maintaining existing edges without the need to bring out my larger steel or more extensive sharpening setup. Its portability makes it ideal for taking into the field or keeping in a kitchen drawer for on-the-spot sharpening needs. However, for heavily damaged blades, be prepared for more work or consider using a coarser abrasive first."

With a compact size like this it’s important to be able to get a good solid grip for safety. The rubber ice grips here give you exactly that. Sharpening blades are well designed and work perfectly. The product itself is high quality, no knicks or scrapes or dings after sharpening four knives. Keeps the knives sharp for over a week (testing period).Convenient to stick in a drawer and have on hand without taking up space. If not as klutzy as me I highly recommend.

I like the simple 2 grit plates and they store in the handle so they don’t get lost. I can see this being very useful for a camping mess kit or in an RV.
