Made from mosaic glass, this sparkling bird feeder reflects sunlight to bring a beautiful glimmer of dancing colors to the backyard, garden, flower bed, or other outdoor space. The bird feeder can hold approximately 1 cup of bird seed and the center rims provide a place for feathered friends to perch while enjoying a snack. The small drainage hole in the bottom of the feeder keeps the bird seed dry and fresh for the birds to enjoy even on rainy days. Beautiful design. Instructions say to hang in shade because the mosaic will shine in sunlight and scare birds away. That limits where one can hang it.

This product literally comes with a warning that the mosaic scares the birds away, and they're not kidding. It does! Pretty but not practical for my purposes which was to feed the birds. Going back.

I wondered if anyone else had this problem. I put it out in the sun, then read the directions stating "A shaded location is recommended..." I put safflower seeds in it, hoping to deter squirrels. I'm going to try to put it in a shaded spot and try again.

I loved the look of this colored glass feeder, however, when it arrived it came with information about hanging which states to avoid hanging in sunlight. (Hello, colored glass.) Yes, avoid the light because the reflection of the sun on the glass WILL SCARE THE BIRDS AWAY! Not one seed was eaten for the two weeks I left it up. Maybe I will plant something in it.
