My mother moved into an assisted living apartment that had zero overhead lighting in the living room, so we needed to brighten the place up. She also needed a reading lamp next to her lounge chair. This Luken 5-light floor lamp covered both needs; the 4 upper lights are pointed up and out for ambient light and to spotlight wall art, and one is pointed down toward her chair for reading.

This lamp is much better than you'll find at the department stores. It is plenty heavy to prevent tipping over, and the larger on/off switches move well and feel better than the little plastic ones you find on other lamps. We weren't sure at first whether we needed one with 5 lights on it, but it is turning out to be great. Just turn on as many or few as you need at the time and aim them as you wish. Overall, great lamp!

I have had several of the typical pole lamps that were under $100 snap in two at the joint and they are not repairable. These lights are heavy duty and much stronger at the joint. I also like the 5 lamps much more that typical 3 lamps. Very nice looking, quick shipping.
