Q: How hot does this lamp get?
A: Hi - if you use an incandescent bulb, the metal shade will become warm from the heat of the bulb, but not overly so and you can still touch it and adjust it. If you are worried about the heat output, we would suggest using an LED bulb with the lamp. LEDs produce very little heat, so the meat shade will remain cool to the touch. Thank you for the question.

Q: Where is the cord? Is it at the bottom or on the side of lamp pole?

Q: How hard is this to put together? (I'm a novice, have some tools.)
A: Hello - this is very easy to put together, and you shouldn't really need any tools. The lamp pole has threaded sections that screw together and then screw into the base. Install the bulb and then plug into an outlet. That's it. Hope this helps. Thank you for the question!
