Dupe to Aveda Dual Foundation
I hate change, especially if I love what works for me. I was using Aveda Dual Foundation in Elm for almost 20 years and when they discontinued their makeup I stocked up until I can find something similar. I searched high and low and I actually came around this brand and I saw that they a powder foundation of similar to Aveda. I ordered several of their colors and came across Malibu was very similar to Elm. This powder feels great on my oily skin and blends really nicely and I actually think it stays on better then the Aveda powder. It also fits in the single compact that Aveda had not in the double. I found my forever foundation and I couldn't be happier!

Been using for years
I’ve been using the shade “Supernatural” for years. I use several of the Honeybee Gardens products. Originally, I ordered samples from their site for $3 to find my eye shadow, face powder, eyeliner and lipstick colors. To give the powder something to cling to, I first apply a face moisturizer. Then, while my face is still damp, I brush on this powder. It’s light coverage that eliminates shine and smoothes my skin tone very well and is easy to apply. The only downside is that this powder doesn’t last very long. I’ve been very happy with Honeybee Gardens. The products I do not recommend are the hairspray (sticky and doesn’t dispense well) and the face sticks (greasy and shimmery). I use the eyeshadows, eye shadow sticks, lipstick, face powder. I sampled all of their blush colors but did not find a shade that would work.

Great Aveda dupe!
A perfect dupe for Aveda’s mineral powder dual foundation that was discontinued. It’s even the same size so it fits in the Aveda magnetic compact perfectly.

Good ingredients!
Great lightweight setting/blotting powder. Won’t settle in fine lines and pores. Doesn’t give full coverage for me so I use it as a setting powder. Definitely a keeper! I also don’t carry my powder in my purse so it was ok that it came as a re-fill little pan. But I think they sell the powder case if you need one. Definitely recommend!

Makeup
Nice light coverage. For bigger events you may want a bb cream under.

Perfect for shiny t-zones
I am so thrilled to find a talc-free mineral powder foundation that helps to keep the dreaded t-zone shine at bay. I also appreciate the refillable packaging to reduce waste. I've only used it for two days, but I was impressed on day-1. After an hour or so from applying make-up, my face tends to get shiny and the make-up shifts settling into pores in my cheeks and nose as well as creases. With the Honeybee Gardens pressed foundation, I only see a slight "glow" on my forehead and cheeks after several hours, including after wearing a face mask at work. This is a wonderfully drastic change for me. So far, I like to wear it over Tarte's BB Tinted Treatment Primer and apply it liberally over my face and neck with a brush. I find it softens the appearance of the tinted primer on my skin. It works very well as a finishing powder. as I have not yet tested to see how buildable the coverage is. Regardless, I have finished my quest to find the right powder foundation for me. Purchased the color "Supernatural" as I have light skin that is neutral leaning cool (pink). I find neutral make-up that leans warm (yellow) tends to look best on me.

Fantastic for combination or oily skin
I have combination skin in the winter and oily in the summer. This powder foundation works for my skin year round. I have a very neutral medium skin tone (light undertone of olive) and it matches my tone very well. I have used it for three years - definitely recommend purchasing the separate compact. Then after the initial purchase, you just have to buy the refills - so much less plastic waste than other brands! The puff that comes with the compact works great, as does a foundation brush. I would say that with my application, it is medium coverage. It also doesn’t settle into fine lines.
