In general, starting a new probiotics often result in changes in the gastrointestinal microflora. Such changes, even when beneficial, can result in temporary symptoms such as bloating, gas, changes in bowel movements, diarrhea, constipation, flu-like symptoms, nausea and rashes which normally subside after the body has had the opportunity to adapt to them. This is so because as die-off of the unfriendly bacteria occurs the body will have to get rid of them. It normally does so at a weak point. This generally is a positive reaction. Significant improvement should follow this initial cleansing reaction. How long it will take to get better we cannot say as it varies from individual to individual. It is important to note that if the symptoms are extreme or persist please stop taking the supplement and consult with your physician. Regular cleansing should not interfere with your normal life, if that is happening then it could be an allergic reaction. An allergic reaction most times (not always) happens immediately after you have taken the supplement and most times is extreme. The aim in taking the product is to start slowly (sometimes 1/2 of a capsule) and increase it slowly to the suggested amount. If you realize that when you were taking less you could deal with the symptoms but when you increase it became unbearable, then reduce the amount you are taking to the level where you are comfortable.
