Disappointment. Terrible durability.
I did a lot of research to find a lunchbox for my 2-year-old son to take to school and decided the Bentgo Chill would be a great choice. We started using it on August 31st, and yesterday the latch mechanism fell apart—to the point where the pins actually came out. It was a huge disappointment, as I followed all the hand-washing instructions, yet it broke after just 45 days. I’m really upset about this, because it was supposed to be a highly durable product, but it didn't live up to that expectation. I’ve kept the broken parts and have photos.

TOO BULKY TOO HEAVY NOT WORTH IT
The boxes are way too bulky and way too heavy and they’re made even heavier with the ice pack. The tray that goes into the container gets stuck to the lid, so if you’re not careful you end up spilling your lunch everywhere. I am so disappointed. I tried to exchange them when I realized they didn’t work and was told no. I expected more from this brand.

Good and less good
It’s ok! Looks nice and closes tightly. It’s not insulated so only stays cold for an hour or two. The partition is removable. It’s heavy for a child’s backpack.

For maximum cooling time, we recommend freezing the removable ice pack overnight for at least 12 to 24 hours and prepping the food tray in the refrigerator before packing. Quality Assured
I had a small issue with the personalization. I didn't wash it or use it, instead i submitted a picture aking how they could help me. Since it was a quality issue from the factory they did replace it. I really apreciate the timely and kind response. They stand behind the quality of the product. I am loyal to this brand.

Hard to open and close -- not worth the money!
Insert gets stuck inside shell and you have to jostle and wiggle it to get it to open. Worried my kindergartner is going to spill his whole lunch on the floor one of these days. Also difficult to close. I would return it if I could but I didn't keep the original packaging. Crazy that a lunchbox so expensive can't even open right.

Doesn't keep food cold
Not as advertised. Cold pack insert doesn't stay cold for very long, making it not ideal for perishable foods. Wish I didn't purchase.

Ice pack not replaceable; otherwise good product
Works well. A little hard to close. The ice pack is NOT dishwasher safe. My husband put it in the dishwasher and it warped. It's been impossible to find a replacement in the right size, compatible with Chill Max.

Great storage for lunch without the leaks
Bento boxes are well made and definitely keep food segmented and cool. Perfect for a kiddo who doesn’t like her food to be warm when it should be cool or for her fruit to touch the cheese. This is easy to clean and does not leak. The only con is that it is pretty large and hefty so it doesn’t fit easily into her insulated lunchbox. But I found it fits perfectly in the TJs mini cooler bag so find a lunch bag that fits and you’re golden.

Pros and cons
I like it. It’s easy for my kids to open and use. But my daughters did not keep her stuff separated. And her yogurt got on her other food. My son didn’t have that issue.

Best lunchbox ever!
Love this cozy little set so much! Disassembles quickly for easy cleaning and does not leak. Food stays cold and fresh. Love the color combo and how easily it opens and closes, but feels very secure!
