After using these for a month the kids 6yrs and 8 yrs love the bigger size. The thermos lids are a little difficult for little hands but they will grow into them. The boxes are easy to clean completely with the rubber seal removal and really are leaking proof tested when a thermos was left open- school bag and the contents of the second compartment remained dry.
