Q: What's the recommended frequency and method to clean the toilet brush AND the canister?

A: Thanks for your question! To clean the Toilet Brush Canister, you can open the front of the holder, spray it with some cleaner, let it sit and rinse it out. Once the front is open, inside should be accessible. For the bristles, we do not have a specific recommendation on cleaning. However, we do offer refills for this part. The frequency of cleaning can depend on how often the item is used.

Handle unscrews from the brush while using
First some background, I have had the OXO Toilet Brush & Plunger Combo for years and it has been a good, reliable product. This one I have used only once. It turns out the handle unscrews from the brush quite easily. The movement of brushing the toilet consistently caused the brush to unscrew and subsequently fall in the toilet. I didn't spend a lot of time troubleshooting this one, but then how much do you really want to handle a brush that has fallen into a toilet. I would not recommend.

Brush constantly unscrews
The brush keeps coming loose from the wand. I saw the many other reviews that complained about the same thing but I thought maybe they didn’t tighten it before using. So I purchased it despite the reviews and tightened it securely before the first use. Using it just once, it came loose multiple times while scrubbing. I was wearing gloves so I tried tightening it again several times to finish scrubbing, and within seconds it would come loose again. Believe all the reviews that say the brush comes loose and DON’T buy it. Nobody wants to have to screw it back on after it’s been in the toilet!

Zero stars, terrible design!
I'm a fan of Oxo generally, and had recently purchased what must have been an older style, that I loved. This is a disaster from my very first scrub. Generally, when scrubbing a back and forth motion with pressure is required, which instantly unscrews the brush on this thing. UGH!!! A big waste of $27.
