Switch out the line if you buy this.
The rod itself is high quality, the reel is about average quality and the combo is overall good. (Especially for the price) The lures are actually normal to be used out on lakes, streams, or ponds. The one thing that is bad about this rod is that the line is mono. Mono line tends to curl up and kink out when you cast it. Luckily I had some 15lb braided line sitting around and I switched out the spool. It is a great deal, but make sure to have some replacement line, as the monofilament line is really bad quality. Great Value!
I bought this for my 8 year old son who just took up fishing and loves it. This is a great size for him. I love that you can retract it for traveling to and from. He loved it so much I bought him another one when he threw the first one in the lake! Great value. Also awesome that you can switch the reel to either side for my lefty!

Good but just change the line
I like how the smooth casting and reeling. the con of this fishing rod is it comes with very cheap line in my opinion you should change the line to braid for farther casting and not letting the line tangle best braid in my opinion is j braid 10 pounds.

Surprisingly Good!
I like the construction, quality of material, sturdiness, and paint job. There is some play in the reel. Not much, but hey it's only $40. It's about on par with Shakespeare.

Nice fishing set
For the price it has really nice quality, i caught a 2.9 pound bass and some other smaller fish in my local pond, it extends about 6 feet, its comfortable to hold, and it has a nice smooth bearing for casting.
