    ABSOLUTE SCAM

    Absolute scam. One star is generous (and also required) DO NOT buy this card. We purchased one for my son for camp - less than an hour later it was hacked and the $100 balance was gone.

    Insanity

    I really really really wish because I normally I always do that. I read these reviews. It is insane like if there’s not enough of us calling target and telling them how insane it is because I already talked to Visa for an hour that we buy this gift card and we cannot use it at any of the merchants because they refuse to register an address and say that it’s only anonymous and this is part of the cardholder agreement when you’re online and buying this gift card you can’t even look at the back like it is the most insane thing that there’s still a target in this freaking country that actually sells these cards. You can’t even use it at target you cannot use this card. You put money on a card that you work your butt off every day and you can’t use the money or get it back off. Do not buy this card.

    DO NOT PURCHASE THESE VISA GIFT CARDS

    I bought one for my relative, and when she tried to use it, the balance was $0. The last four digits of the card number and the security code had been erased. There’s no way to reach a live representative at 1 (877) 867-4873. The automated system requires the full 16-digit card number, but the last four digits were missing, so I couldn’t get any help at all. No support, no resolution…nothing. Don’t waste your money.

    Cannot Add To Walet (e-gift card)

    There's no barcode, dmso you can't use this in store or add it to your wallet to scan in store. I had to just use it to pay bills to get use out of it. Would not recommend.

    Fees charged after purchase. Scam.

    I tried to use this card at two locations- Taco Bell and McDonalds. Taco Bell was $44- my gift card balance went down $52. McDonalds was $34- my gift card balance went down $40. There are fees for usage on top of the fee for activation and they're not small amounts. And they're not applied by the businesses. Both McD and TacoBell receipts showed the smaller amount not the amount the balance went down. Over $14 so far on top of the $6 activation just to use the card.

    NOT A SCAM...HAD NO ISSUES

    I purchased the e-gift card version and had absolutely no issues—it was accepted everywhere I tried to use it. To anyone worried about 'scams,' the issue is usually that physical cards get compromised during shipping. That is why I highly recommend choosing the digital option (or buying in-store) to avoid the risk of mail theft. If you do run into a problem, just call customer service and ask for help politely; they are actually very helpful if you aren't rude.

    DO NOT BUY GIFT CARDS FROM TARGET

    Be careful when purchasing these cards. There have been 2 separate occasions when I’ve purchased a 100 dollar card and the security code is either scratched or the last 4 digits of the card are blank or scratched. I called Visa both occasions, they took my email/receipt pic/card pic and was told I will be sent a replacement card but never received it knowing it could take well up to 30 days. 3 months later, I never received a thing. Don’t waste your time or money. Both these purchases were made from Target and on a 3rd occasion I decided to go with an AMEX 100 dollar gift card and wouldn’t you know it, they scammed me too! I went on Reddit to get some answers and was surprised to read similar unfortunate experiences from so many people who have purchased all kinds of different gift cards from TARGET.

    Rife with Scams / Shame on Target

    Not sure why Target is allowing this to continue. These are rife with scams. A quick review of the BBB profile for Incomm (the servicer) is all the proof that is needed. Target won't help when something goes wrong. Shame on Target.

    A Rip Off

    Bought this for a Christmas gift this year for a family member, but when they opened it half the card's numbers, 3 digit pin and expiration were so badly scratched the card itself is unreadable. It's incredible frustrating and now we're out a gift and I'm out over $100.

    There are limitations on where you can use these cards which can be annoying, but I've been buying these cards for years with no issues. The majority of these bad reviews are from scammers trying to get a free gift card.
